For today's National Day of Prayer, Benedictine offers the following prayer for its 40th Anniversary.

God of all ages and all creation, throughout 40 years of Benedictine's health care ministry, countless women and men have shown love to others in gestures large and small.

We thank You for the gift of our calling: to welcome with arms wide; to respect others with minds open; to steward our gifts with wise generosity; to act with justice in our decisions and care, and to be peacemakers in a divided world.

We thank You for the gift of the Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery, Duluth, who have paved our way with great courage and love.

Grant that courage to all Benedictine Living Communities' staff, residents and families, and remain with us and with all those we serve, now and forever.

Amen.

A reflection on Requiescat in Pace and Pope Francis' ultimate Emmaus Day (Easter Monday) journey by Sister Joan Marie Stelman, OSB. A Prayer for Easter
Gracious and Almighty God, in these darkest days and fearful nights of soul, may our dimly burning wicks not be put out.
Heart’s fire within us, stir and make us whole.
Please burn away the shadows of all doubt.
Your Light of Life, shine on us and this earth.
Make new Life spring again from Your heart’s womb.
Embrace us in your Love with newest birth.
With loudest shout “Come out!” - empty the tomb!
May the courage and compassion of our Associates be yours.
May the steadfast love and devotion of our residents’ loved ones be yours.
May the beauty, wisdom, and strength of our residents and guests be yours.
May the peace of God that passes all understanding be yours.
And may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
