Sometimes I feel just blank. I know I might be feeling something, maybe a lot of somethings, but it’s like I have an “out to lunch sign” on my forehead.
Journaling helps create, seemingly out of nowhere, fully formed thoughts and feelings - thoughts and feelings that maybe would flash into my conscious awareness, but then as quickly fadeaway.
Ever go to your phone to look something up, and an hour later you’ve totally forgotten what you went there for? That’s sometimes what happens when I try to check in with myself without journaling. I think a lot of thoughts, but they weren’t the thought that I was looking for.
