🚨 9 MORE DAYS TO MAKE YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!

The Department of Education has formally released its draft rule for a public comment period. As expected, the draft still proposes to exclude the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) from the definition of a "Professional Degree".

This isn’t just a labeling issue—it’s a direct hit to the future of our field by closing the door for many aspiring naturopathic doctors.

The good news? The Department of Education has the power to fix this right now. But they need to hear from YOU.

SUPPORT SB 550

Naturopathic Doctors have been covered by individual insurance plans (ie plans through the Marketplace) since 2013.

In NH, 55% of people are covered by health insurance through their job (ie group plans), but only some group insurance plans cover naturopathic care.

Patients with group insurance are frequently unable to use their benefits for naturopathic services, despite availability of Naturopathic Doctors in all regions of the state, many of whom accept private insurance.

Only 5.5% of NH residents have insurance plans guaranteed to cover naturopathic medicine.

This creates an avoidable barrier to accessing naturopathic medicine in NH.

SB 550-FN would require insurance companies to cover Naturopathic Doctors under group plans, allowing ALL patients with private insurance to finally access naturopathic care.

Why Passing SB 550 is Essential

Patients want access to naturopathic medicine

Reducing unnecessary financial burden on families

Equity among private insurance members

Reducing the healthcare provider shortage

Equity among providers

Naturopathic Medicine is Cost-Effective

This bill reduces out-of-pocket costs for families and administrative burden for patients, providers, and insurance companies alike.

We estimate that expanding insurance coverage of naturopathic medicine will save each insurance company $20 million per year and will not increase premiums.

Public Hearing: 1/28/26, Senate Health and Human Services Committee, 9:30am, State House Room 100

📸 NHAND Photo Booth was so much fun this year! Thanks to all those who got silly with us, we wouldn’t have our ND community any other way! 🥳🤩🥰

🤩 What an unforgettable way to wrap up our NHAND 2025 weekend! Seeing the Northern Lights dance from ’s front porch was a magical ending to a phenomenal weekend of learning and laughing together.

Huge thanks to everyone who made this weekend so special. We can’t wait to see you all next year! Until then, we’ll be chasing that feeling (and those lights!). 💖

🏆 Congratulations and deepest gratitude to this year’s Champion of Naturopathic Medicine, Glee Corsetti-Hooper!

Glee joined the Naturopathic Board of Examiners as the public member in 2017, bringing her considerable organizational skills and passion for health care to our licensing body. She quickly took on leadership roles, serving as the Board Chair from 2020 through 2022. This is an immense commitment, requiring countless hours of administrative and oversight work to ensure naturopathic doctors are held to the highest standards and treated equitably among medical professions that are regulated by the state.

When you ask Glee about her motivation, her humility shines through. She says, “I’ve gotten more from the profession than I’ve given.” This is a testament to the powerful, life-changing journey she and her family have experienced through naturopathic medicine, a journey that began decades ago. Her family was helped so much, that she is truly happy to give back to our profession.

And give back, she certainly has. Her advocacy spans decades. She testified for the licensure of naturopathic medicine back in 1994. For over three decades, Glee has consistently supported our profession legislatively whenever needs have arisen, most recently by helping us find co-sponsors for insurance expansion legislation we are introducing this January.

Thank you, Glee, for reminding us what a true champion looks like. ❤️
