I’ ve been doing a lot of pre and post operative Lymphatic Drainage Massage lately. The most common question I get asked is “Is there anything I can do at home to help with the healing/recovery process?” My answer is always if you aren’t already, start taking at least 1000 mgs of Vitamin C. I also recommend starting it if you know you have an upcoming surgery. Reasons: It’s required for Collagen Synthesis, it’s a natural anti-inflammatory & it supports immune activation. Most people who undergo surgery are deficient to begin with. Without it there’s higher inflammation & slower recovery. It reduces infection risk & helps with wound healing.
