This summer, let kids be kids. Climb trees, catch frogs, build forts, ride bikes, explore creeks.... Nature helps develop coordination, creativity, resilience, problem-solving, confidence, and healthy brains and bodies in ways screens simply cannot. Fresh air, movement, sunshine, and real-world adventure are powerful tools for childhood development.

Step outside and soak up some morning sunshine! Early daylight helps support healthy vitamin D levels, boosts mood, and helps regulate your body’s natural sleep-wake cycle. Sometimes one of the best health habits is simply getting outside.

Even with prevention, tick bites can still happen. If you find one attached, remove it promptly with fine-tipped tweezers by grasping close to the skin and pulling straight out steadily, don’t twist or crush it. Clean the area well, monitor for rash, fever, fatigue, or flu-like symptoms, and contact your healthcare provider if symptoms develop. Early attention matters!

More on ticks since they are rampant already this year: Some people report that taking MSM (a sulfur compound) seems to help deter ticks and mosquitoes. As always, the best protection is a combination of prevention habits: yard maintenance, natural repellents, proper clothing, and tick checks after being outdoors.

Tick season is here! A few natural ways to help keep ticks away: diluted tea tree oil on shoes/clothing, keeping grass trimmed, and spraying your yard with cedarwood or mint-based tick repellents like Wondercide or Sunday Nix Ticks. Always check for ticks after time outdoors, especially kids and pets! Ticks are great hitchhikers, so after time outdoors, don’t bring them inside with you! Leave shoes by the door, toss outdoor clothes straight into the dryer on high heat for 10–15 minutes, and check pets, pant legs, and socks carefully. A few simple habits can make a big difference during tick season.

Sleep is one of the most powerful (and overlooked) tools for your health.

Consistent, quality sleep supports:
• Immune function
• Hormone balance
• Mood and focus

Aim for a consistent sleep schedule, even on weekends.

Feeling tired or foggy?
It’s easy to overlook, but mild dehydration can impact:
• Energy levels
• Focus
• Headaches
Try increasing your water intake consistently throughout the day, not just when you feel thirsty.

Spring allergies can sneak up quickly but a few simple habits can help:

• Start support early (don’t wait until symptoms peak)
• Shower or rinse off after time outdoors
• Keep windows closed on high pollen days
• Stay well hydrated

Small changes can make a noticeable difference over time.
