By reducing reimbursements, charging hidden fees, and favoring large chain pharmacies, PBMs are making it harder for independent pharmacies to survive. Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) have been threatening local pharmacies by unfair practices such as patient steering, unfair reimbursement rates, selective participation in networks, and many more.
