I wanted to share a little about myself and my why behind wanting to help other moms feel strong and confident…

A little about me: After having my son in October 2022, I had to navigate my own C-section recovery and rehab. Even though I had almost 5 years of professional experience and a lifetime of personal experience in health + fitness, I felt lost and confused in my new body.

I didn’t know who I was anymore. I didn’t feel like myself in my new mom bod, and I had a hard time figuring out how to move forward. In the last two years, I’ve developed a passion for learning and helping other moms find strength and confidence in their bodies again.

I have a degree in Exercise Science as well as multiple certifications in nutrition, personal training, and pre and postnatal coaching. My own personal fitness journey started as an athlete and I went on to run cross country and track at the collegiate level. Since then I’ve dabbled in CrossFit, bodybuilding, and I’ve recently found my way back to running at almost 2 years postpartum.

A HUGE amount of women find themselves lost in motherhood, both in their body as well as their purpose as many of them shift from a role as employee, friend, and wife to a role as primary caregiver and mother. A loss of body, personal space, identity, community of co-workers and/or friends leave moms feeling burnt out and broken down.

When I became a Certified Pre and Postnatal Specialist, I wanted to create a community for moms to find strength, confidence, and encouragement in and for their new role as moms. ��I’m entering my toddler mom era and working on creating this community for moms, full of effective (and realistic) workouts to help moms feel strong, simple nutrition strategies to give them the energy needed to chase those crazy kids, and the understanding and encouragement that only a fellow mama would understand. ��This new project will be LIVE in January 2025 and I’ve never been more excited to bring this project to life!

When I hear women say they want to lose 10-20 pounds, what they usually really mean is that they want to:

✅ stop avoiding photos
✅ feel good in a swimsuit
✅ fit into their clothes better
✅ have more energy
✅ feel sexy and attractive

And weight loss has been sold as the way to get those things.
Now, while taking the steps to achieve those things sometimes results in the scale going down…a lot of the times it won’t.

During the process of body recomposition you’ll be building muscle, shedding fat, creating the toned/defined look you desire- but the end result will often have a heavier scale weight than you anticipated.

If you could get these things- the hot body, the confidence, the energy- WITHOUT a restricting diet or ridiculous amounts of exercise…but the number on the scale was different than you envisioned…

DAY IN THE LIFE: Mom Who Just Wants to Lose 15 Pounds Edition

5:30am- your alarm goes off. You wanted to get up early to workout and eat before the kids got up, but you’re tired and you don’t even know what workout you would do, so you shut off your alarm and go back to sleep

6:30am- you’re startled awake by the sound of your kids waking up. Crap…now you don’t have time to do anything other than jump out of bed and straight into mom duties. “Maybe I’ll workout during nap time” you think because you WANT to lose weight and you KNOW you should be working out.

9:00am- So far you’ve had 3 cups of coffee and the leftover muffin that your kid didn’t want to eat. You feel like you’ve already lived 5 lives even though it’s only 9:00 am.

You take your kids to the park to get out of the house, but after 10 minutes of playing with them you spend the rest of the outing sitting on a bench because you’re SO TIRED and embarrassingly out-of-breath.

11:30am- It’s lunchtime, so you swing through the Chick-fil-a drive through to get everyone lunch. You’re trying to be good so you just order a salad and a Dr. Pepper (you don’t really like salad though so you put 3 packets of ranch dressing on it to mask the flavor…Oh, and you eat half of your kid’s fries out of the bag on the drive home).

12:30pm- It’s finally nap time and time to get to that workout you promised yourself you’d do later. But first you need to start a load of laundry, wash the dishes from breakfast, and make a plan for supper. THEN, you’ll workout.

1:30pm- you’ve done the chores, spent 20 minutes scrolling Pinterest for a “healthy” supper recipe that also looks like something your kids might eat, changed your clothes, and now you’re laying on the couch scrolling that one fit moms page, looking for that one workout she posted that’s guaranteed to burn belly fat and get rid of your mom pooch.

By the time you find it you realize that your kid’s will be up any minute so you save the workout and tell yourself that you’ll do it after the kids go to bed.

8:30pm- you made it through the rest of the afternoon and evening (your kids did NOT like the healthy supper you made, so instead of eating you spent supper time picking up food from the floor and making pb + j’s for your picky eaters)

It’s time to do that workout you’ve been putting off all day, but you’re tired, stressed, and just want 5 minutes to sit and do nothing.

10:30pm- that 5 minutes turned into 2 hours, in which time you also ate half a bag of chips and a bowl of ice cream because you were hungry, stressed, and bored. “I’m so frustrated that the day went like this, again. I just need to get my crap together and do better tomorrow”

Spoiler alert: you won’t
