We loved getting to do this for our community! Last night we served out 8 taco meals! We loved doing this so much that we are excited to announce that we are going to serve meals again in thee month of September!

Fun fact: Root beer floats were accidentally invented in 1893 by Frank J. Wisner, the owner of a Colorado brewing company. He was inspired by the snowy white peaks on the dark Cow Mountain and thought they looked like vanilla ice cream floating on root beer. The next day, he dropped a scoop of vanilla ice cream into root beer—and the iconic treat was born. He originally called it a “Black Cow,” which is still a nickname for root beer floats today! 🥤🍦

Alice Ione Colton, 96, of Colwich, died August 8, 2025, at Colwich Gardens. She was born May 29, 1929, in Wells, Kansas, to Fred and Ada Matson Harder. On December 27, 1953, she married Max Colton in Wells, Kansas. They shared 51 years of marriage before his death on April

What is the AHCA Baldridge Award you ask?

The AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program is a comprehensive and cost-effective performance assessment for long term care organizations. It evaluates their capabilities against nationally recognized standards for excellence. The program includes three levels: Bronze (commitment to quality. We won this last year!), Silver (Achievement in Quality), and Gold(Excellence in Quality)

“The preparation for our Silver Award spanned over five months, with weekly meetings and consistent planning in between. We spend well over 100 combined hours preparing- whether it was through brainstorming sessions, research, organizing materials or refining our plans. Every moment was a learning experience in communication, problem solving and staying committed to a bigger goal.”

August 20th- Tacos, refried beans & rice 🌮

This is for FREE and for anyone ages 5️⃣ 5️⃣ and up! ☺️

There are only 10 avaible spots per each of these two days, let’s get your plate reserved today! You will have to come up to the facility and pick it up between 5-6pm the day of the meal.

🧠 Decorating cookies can actually boost your brain health! The detailed work strengthens fine motor skills, improves hand-eye coordination, and activates the creative centers of the brain, which can help reduce stress and improve focus.

These ladies were so creative this afternoon with decorating some sugar cookies! 🍪

Here at the gardens we decided to have a Mini pool day served with some sweet tea and by request margaritas!
