Somewhere between busy schedules, long days, and taking care of everyone else… your body started holding onto more than it should.

That tightness in your shoulders, the pull in your hips, the stiffness when you first get up… it didn’t happen overnight. And it’s not just “normal.”

One of my clients came in recently feeling exactly like that—restricted, uncomfortable, and honestly just tired of feeling tight all the time. After one assisted stretch session, their body started to open up in a way they hadn’t felt in a long time. Not forced. Not painful. Just… relief.

Why Assisted Stretching takes time for your body to fully relax into. 👀

Assisted Stretching can feel surprisingly difficult to relax into because your nervous system is designed to protect you. When someone else moves your body, especially into new or tight ranges, your brain may interpret it as a threat and trigger muscle guarding.

Common reasons include:
Lack of control: Your body prefers predictable, self-driven movement
Muscle guarding: Tight or sensitive areas instinctively resist change
Breath holding: Increases tension without you realizing it
New stimulus: Your nervous system needs time to trust the process.

Relaxation isn’t forced—it’s trained. With slow movement, steady breathing, and consistency, your body learns to let go and gain more mobility over time.

Ever feel that tight, burning tension sitting right on top of your shoulders? 👀

That’s your upper traps talking… and they’ve usually had enough.

Between long days, stress, phone use, and posture, those muscles stay “on” way too long. Over time, that tightness can lead to: • Headaches
• Neck stiffness
• Limited range of motion
• That constant “I need a massage” feeling

Today I worked with a client dealing with stubborn upper trap tightness, and instead of just chasing the pain, we focused on intentional stretching and release to reset the muscle.

A client came in feeling completely worn down… tight shoulders, constant back tension, and that “nothing is helping” feeling.

She told me she had tried stretching, massages, even resting more—but her body still felt stuck.

So we decided to try cupping.

As the session went on, you could literally see the tension start to release. Areas that had been tight and restricted began to soften. By the end, she took a deep breath and said, “I haven’t felt my body relax like this in a long time.”

A few days later, she checked back in and said her movement felt easier, her pain had eased up, and she didn’t feel that heavy pressure anymore.

Sometimes your body doesn’t need more force… it needs a different approach.

Cupping helps lift, open, and restore what’s been held onto for too long 💜
