Breast Milk is liquid gold! We have had a lot of questions in office about storage guidelines- Following proper storage guidelines will help ensure that all those precious ounces are ready for your sweet little one!

We've been talking about using a hand pump in the office a lot lately!

Using a hand pump is a great way for moms to pump on the go or to simplify getting a pump in!

Here are guidelines to using one:
1. Wash your hands before you begin pumping.
2. Find a relaxing space to help with letdown.
3. Center the ni**le in the pump’s fl**ge.
4. Start with a gentle suction to mimic baby’s sucking- this will help with letdown.
5. While pumping, squeeze the handle slowly in a steady rhythm.
6. Switch sides every few minutes to ensure even drainage

Breastfeeding is natural, but it’s also a learning experience—for both you and baby! Don’t wait until you’re struggling at 2 AM—schedule a session with a lactation consultant before birth to guarantee you’ll be able to be seen quickly if you need support. 👏

A note to new mothers - here are three pieces of advice I want you to remember:

Don’t be discouraged when you don’t “just know” all of the things when it comes to breastfeeding. That piece of advice in the hospital is not what works for everyone. Take it day by day or hour by hour, pay attention to YOUR baby and you will begin to recognize their cues overtime.

Don’t beat yourself up, this doesn’t come naturally to most. Breastfeeding is HARD. The thing you need most is not countless hours of research, but support. YOU CAN DO THIS!

Everybody’s journey is different, this applies to you too! Your journey will be different than others, and that’s ok! That’s exactly how it should be. You are the best mom for your baby ❤️

And before you know it… they are growing up 🥹
