"What I like most about working in senior living is helping create opportunities that give residents a sense of purpose and connection. Keeping residents active and engaged in this chapter of their lives is my goal, while also learning about their rich histories and life stories. Since I did not grow up with grandparents, I think of the residents as my 'honorary' grandparents - they truly feel like family. I enjoy learning from them and their wisdom, and I feel very special to be able to share this chapter of life with each of them."

Meet Marita, Lead Housekeeper!

"What I like most about working in senior living is that I truly enjoy working in the senior living community. It has become like a second home to me over the past 18 years. I started as a housekeeper and grew into a Lead Housekeeper role, and along the way I built so many meaningful connections with the residents. Those relationships are what inspired me to become a CNA on the side, so that in my free time I can pick up cases and offer more personal, hands-on care to individuals who need it. Even though my CNA work isn't part of my main job, it allows me to give back in different and very rewarding ways. Being able to support people, listen to their stories, and brighten their day is truly what keeps me in this field."

Our residents had an unforgettable adventure to Brookgreen Gardens! Filled with scenic views, rich history, and the most perfect weather. Guided tours took us through their stunning gardens and a peaceful creek excursion surrounded by wildlife.

Of course, the best trips are about the people, too—sharing great meals, lots of laughs, and stories from the day together.

Our Story

Founded in 1985, Williamsburg Landing is an independent, nonprofit, mission-driven Life Plan Community with longstanding financial stability and history of excellence. As the only nationally accredited continuing care retirement community in Hampton Roads, Virginia, Williamsburg Landing provides a gracious, socially-enriched lifestyle with a full continuum of care. These services include: independent living, home health, rehabilitation services, assisted living, memory support, short and long-term skilled nursing, and a new adult day center available to the public. Located on 137 wooded acres adjacent to College Creek, minutes from historic Williamsburg and the College of William & Mary, the community provides an individualized focus on person-centered care.
