Patriots Colony residents recently accepted an invitation from the Honor Flight Network to share in a day of honor at our nation’s memorials in Washington, D.C.
The Honor Flight Network is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to celebrate America’s veterans. Currently, there are 128 hubs across the country & fully staffed by volunteers. They coordinate flights, bus trips, send-off & welcome- home ceremonies, all with the common goal to honor our nation’s veterans with a trip of a lifetime. Approximately 22,500 veterans participate annually & more than 300,000 have been flown free of charge to Washington, D.C. since its inception.
If you, a loved one, or a friend served in military uniform anytime during the WW2 to Vietnam eras, regardless of where or what you were doing, you are eligible to participate in this free trip to Washington, D.C. The next mission is October 17. Our resident Bob Natole described the day as an amazing & memorable experience and urged veterans to sign up now as the missions fill up months in advance.
