It feels like we’re about to watch the world shout, “Give us Barabbas.”

That moment in Scripture was never just history it was a mirror. The crowd didn’t choose Barabbas because he was innocent. They chose him because he fit their spirit. A revolutionary. A disruptor. A man of violence instead of repentance. And standing right next to him was Jesus, truth incarnate, peace incarnate, God in the flesh. One demanded surrender. The other demanded nothing but rage. And the crowd screamed for the one who let them keep their sin.

And here we are again.

We are watching a world that would rather be ruled by chaos than corrected by truth. A world that mocks holiness but celebrates lawlessness. A world that cries for “freedom” while chaining itself to deception. Don’t miss this: Pilate didn’t force the choice, the people demanded it. That’s what makes this moment terrifying. The rejection of Christ isn’t accidental. It’s intentional. Because Jesus still confronts the heart, and Barabbas still gives permission to rebel.

So when you see truth silenced, righteousness mocked, and lies crowned as virtue, don’t be surprised. We were told this would happen. The crowd always gets louder right before the crucifixion. But remember this too: Barabbas walked free that day because Jesus took his place. And that same mercy is still being offered… even as the world sharpens its voice and shouts his name again.

Choose wisely.

YOU HAVE THE CHOICE! Has this been a rough year for you? This image is for you. Taken in 1940 in London after relentless bombings from the N***s, this joyful bride emerges from her bombed out home to join her groom, celebrate their wedding, and start their new life together.

Maybe you feel like you've been relentlessly attacked this year (or possibly for many years), but those attacks don't define you. You can emerge to a new chapter with joy, faith, and great expectations. You can build something new. God is with you and He is for you. Don't let the enemy have the final word. Choose joy.

𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐣𝐚𝐡 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧… 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞.
That’s how fast even a strong heart can break.
One threat from Jezebel…
and the prophet who stood fearless on Carmel
felt fear grip him like a hand around the throat.
He ran into the wilderness.
He left his servant behind.
He sat under a juniper tree, crushed and trembling.
And then the words spilled out of him…
"𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡; 𝐧𝐨𝐰, 𝐎 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝, 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐦𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞."
Fear.
Weariness.
Loneliness.
The kind of discouragement that makes a person feel finished.
𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬.
He doesn’t thunder.
He doesn’t accuse.
He doesn’t say, “Where is your faith, Elijah?”
𝐇𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩.
He sends an angel with fresh bread and water.
He strengthens him again.
And again.
Forty days later Elijah hides in a cave, carrying emotions too heavy to name.
But God finds him there too.
Not in the wind.
Not in the earthquake.
Not in the fire.
But in a still, small voice that reaches places no storm ever could.
“𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞, 𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐣𝐚𝐡?”
God gives him space to speak.
Elijah opens his heart twice.
All the fear.
All the hurt.
All the lies he believed about being alone and useless.
Then God begins to rebuild him.
He shows Elijah he is not alone.
He gives him new assignments.
He pours courage back into his soul.
He restores him to the work he thought he could never do again.
And Elijah rises... not the same man who laid under the tree…
but a man carried by the strength of God Himself.

We need time to reset! God wants us to get in the habit of having hearts at peace through a deeper dependence on Him. He wants us to rest more and worry less. He made us so He knows we’re only human and we will be life long learners because we like to control outcomes. We want to fix it instead of praying over it.

Trusting God takes time and practice. He knows our future yet he watches our worries wasted hours. Christians must know with confidence that He will never leave us nor forsake us!

Take advantage of time God gives us to slow down and know it’s ok! If Wisdom says a heart at peace give LIFE to the body then it deserves our attention. Take time and give your heart rest, quiet your thoughts and calm your soul so you can hear the still small voice of God. He is all the peace’s and life we will ever need.

God: our life is in your hands. Help me to stay willing to surrender to Your leading and your love!

Amen

Loving and following Jesus Christ, does not exempt you from adversity. But understanding your wealth in Christ gives you the discipline and the stability you need to understand the trials in your life without being destroyed. Christ is sufficient
