Happy Lunar New Year! 2025 is the year of the Snake! 🐍🐍🐍
The snake symbolizes rebirth, transformation, regeneration, and wisdom.
Although snakes can get a bad wrap, they are powerful spirit allies. They are commonly depicted in many spiritual and religious cultures all over the world.
Kim Krans, author of the Wild Unknown Spirit Animal deck, says, "The Snake is a symbol of our highest potential. It is said that Shakti (our creative life force) lies dormant at the base of our spine, in the form of a coiled snake. Regardless of whether this image rings true for you, it's well worth considering the amount of 'unawakened' or 'untapped' potential within. What would life look like if you woke it up? How can you stir it from slumber?"
I can already tell that this year will bring a big shift as a collective. The snake teaches us to shed our old skin and release what no longer serves us.
So maybe honor the snake and join me in some of these practices:
- practice Kundalini yoga and meditations
-self care in the form of a skincare scrub (shed that skin, literally, and don't forget to moisturize!)
-haircut (envision all negative thoughts moving from your mind into the ends of your hair as it is chopped off!)
-declutter and purge junk in your space
-incorporate crystals like Serpentine and low maintenance house plants like the Snake plant
-remove, or at least limit, negative relationships in your life
-write down everything you wish to release and burn on the full moon.
Honor the end, and with it, the new beginnings. May there be rebirth from this death.
