Telling myself that my life will always be hard

Where I thought I should or would be at this age
How I let people treat me in the past
The mistakes I’ve made
When I have bad parenting days
I need to realize…
That I am perfectly imperfect

7 years ago I posted this because I had a story. And since then, I have had more stories added to my life. I have fought and never kept my mouth shut for myself, for every women before me, and every after me. I stand loud and proud for my friends, sisters, nieces, cousins, coworkers, and every other woman. I will continue to speak as loud as I can when it comes to domestic violence, sexual abuse/harassment, and women’s rights. We all have a right to dress how we want, work in safe environments, live in safe houses, go to safe schools, and be in public without feeling scared. If you need to talk, I am here for you.

Forever a student and teacher. I was recently asked to do a women’s yoga event and as I reflect on some of my accomplishments, they remind me of who I am. How far I have come. How many people have helped me heal along the way and hopefully I’ve helped along their journey. I am forever grateful for my path, no matter how hard it has been.
