In most states, we’ve been licensed for over 100 years.

The first massage license in the U.S. was issued in 1916 in Ohio.
We still have 5 states to go.

Yet here we are in 2025, still fighting for respect, fair treatment, and the ability to practice across state lines. We are still entangled with 'that other profession' even with all the licensing and legislation that we do have.

Something has gone seriously wrong.

So why do we still have to explain that massage is real healthcare?

Why do we still get those calls for other services?

Why are there not enough massage therapists to fill the many open jobs?

Why has the pay rate in jobs not changed much in 25 years?

Any ideas on how to change that?
