Dear ReMar Nurses,

I wanted to let you know that we are making great strides today.
I personally thank Kenya Methodist University for hosting the 1st Live NCLEX review in Mombasa! It will be the start of another beautiful partnership. We were blessed to have 3 ReMar Nurses who used the NCLEX V2 and passed attend to give a testimony! The V2 NCLEX prep course can be assessed from anywhere! Let's continue to spread the word. 2024 is our year for helping more nurses get their USRN!

Hemophilia is an inherited genetic disorder that impairs the body's ability to make blood clots, a process that is needed to stop bleeding. This results in bleeding longer after an injury, easy bruising, and an increased risk of bleeding inside joints or the brain.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
• Unexplained and excessive bleeding from cuts or injuries or after surgery
• Many large or deep bruises
• Unusual bleeding after vaccinations
• Pain, swelling, or tightness in your joints
• Blood in your urine or stool
• Nosebleeds without a known cause
• In infants, unexplained irritability

DIAGNOSIS
• Laboratory Tests
• Complete blood cell count
• Coagulation studies
• FVIII assay

Expected laboratory values are as follows:
• Hemoglobin/hematocrit: Normal or low
• Platelet count: Normal
• Bleeding time and prothrombin time: Normal
• Activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT): Significantly prolonged in severe hemophilia, but maybe normal in mild or even moderate hemophilia
