For many people, Christmas is a difficult time of the year. Hosted by our friend Jamie Thompson, she writes, “ a tradition in the church, held on or around the Winter Solstice (the longest night). It is intended for people who struggle during the holiday season. No preaching at this service, just some quiet readings, music, reflection time, and a chance to light candles. This is not the place for singing "Joy to the World" or trying to say "Cheer up and put a smile on now!" This is a space to help people hold grief, anxiety, struggle, and pain during a season when there is so much pressure to "be of good cheer." This service offers a time and place to say, "We see you. God meets you right where you are. And you are not alone in it." Feel free to invite and share for whomever might need this.”

“Where is Hope Recovery Church? Funny you ask that... presently, Hope Recovery Church exists in a 3-ring binder of notes, dreams, plans and ‘what-if’s?’ But hopefully not for much longer...!!!” - Meg McB.
If God’s Will be done, Hope Recovery Church will begin meeting with the communities of Wilmington in July 2020. We are listening for the voices in need of freedom from addictions of all sorts, for the desires of acceptance for those living with mental health conditions and seeking friendship with anyone in need of healing in their lives.
We hope to create a worshipping community sensitive to all our needs that is HONEST - RAW - CENTERED. One that is non-judgmental and welcoming and... very REAL, very VULNERABLE and very LIFE AFFIRMING.
