Looking for a forever home!
With just one look at my precious face, you’ll see the sweetness in my eyes! My name is Kali and I’m a 3 yr old, American Blue Heeler mix who is searching for my forever home. Let me brag on myself for a minute… I am a laid-back gal, super friendly, I walk well on a leash, and am an affectionate snuggler. Just picture us cuddled up on a summer night watching the stars. And if star gazing isn’t your thing that’s ok, I’m down for anything as long as I can hang out with my forever human. I hope my forever home shows me lots of love and teaches me tricks and commands too. I have so much potential and will repay you in lots of cuddles. I promise! Does all that sound good to you? Did you say yes? Then, head on over to Paws Place so we can meet, and I can wow you with my personality!
Congratulations to the newest certified police detection dogs! ❤️
There ya go!...
Well, how do you do! I’m Riley! I am a beautiful and gentle gal. My life hasn’t been a walk in the park, but the humans at Paws Place are helping me get back into peak shape. I came in a little thin, so I am gaining my curves back and have been told I have those grody things called heartworms. But don’t you worry, I am getting the queen treatment at Paws Place, and they said I will start my heartworm treatment soon. So, a little bit about me. We think I'm about 4 yrs old and my current weight (yes, I will tell) is 70 lbs. My favorite hobbies are cuddling, giving kisses, showing all my toys to my friends, and of course playing with my toys! I am a true love bug and am showing everyone how much I appreciate them! I am so happy to be at Paws Place and starting the next chapter in my journey! Will you be a part of my next chapter?
Wish Mandarin a Happy 11th Birthday! Enjoy your toys!
Wishing you all a Happy New Year 🎆

Slider doing a fine job as bat boy!
Sadly, Sasha and Jay Z's owner is nearing the end of his life and we will need to move this bonded pair of 8 year old double dapples in the next few days. If you are not a fit for these pups, please share this post widely. We feel that a foster or adoption home is likely outside of our immediate network since we've been posting about these guys for months so we need your help in getting the story in front of someone with a Sasha and JayZ sized hole in their heart. They are currently located near Winston Salem, NC.
We are open to any of the following options:
1. A forever home in the eastern US where the family will drive to NC to adopt and drive them back if they must be returned. Preference given to families closer to NC, but at this point we are open if the family is the absolute perfect fit. Because of the logistics, we are not able to consider families on the west coast.
2. A foster home (or foster to adopt) anywhere in NC. We are also open to VA towns within 3 hours of Greensboro or Raleigh if the foster home is willing to help with transportation. We are also open to Myrtle Beach foster homes as well as foster homes in SC towns that are near the Charlotte Metro area.
A bit about these special dogs - They are 8 years old, very friendly and loving, get along great with kids and are housetrained. Sasha is blind and Jay Z is deaf. Because they are quite barky due to their disabilities, they need a home without shared walls. They need work with leash training, so if their home does not have a fenced yard then their new family will need patience in the beginning.
They need a cat free home since they are way too interested in cats. They are currently living with other dogs and can live with other dogs, but their new family will need to be willing to work through issues since they can be protective of themselves around other dogs. Sasha previously had bladder stones and is on prescription food - we have some ideas for a natural diet that would keep her healthy.
If you are interested in fostering them, please fill out a foster application at https://www.doxiebyproxy.org/volunteer
If you are interested in adopting them, please fill out an adoption application at https://www.doxiebyproxy.org/application
These pups are truly special dachshunds - both their needs and their amazing personality. You will not find a sweeter or more loyal pair of dachshunds. Yes, they come with their challenges, but we are 100% confident that their new family will be rewarded a million times over in love and kisses.

The party continues with day! This is Dori doing her best to supervise the sweetpotato operation at Scott Brothers Inc. in Kenly, NC. From slips in the greenhouse, through growth, all the way to getting buses ready for harvest. Her short legs aren’t great for heavy lifting, but she’s an excellent “taste tester” and doesn’t mind “barking” orders from the truck or tractor. We just need to work on finding a sweetpotato collar! Let us know if you've seen any ☺️
