I’m proud to announce that I’ve just opened the Philadelphia chapter of Not Just Tourists!
Not Just Tourists (NJT) is a charitable organization that helps travelling humanitarians provide much needed medical aid to the places they visit.
Begun in Canada, NJT helps in three ways:
1-gets medical supplies to places in the world that are in need of them.
2- interrupts the hospital-to-landfill pipeline that most unused medical supplies take.
3- supports individuals who want to see another part of the world and directly, immediately take action to help the communities that they visit.
We are a group of volunteers who collect clean, unused, unexpired medical supplies, pack them in suitcases and get them to anyone who wants to take them abroad.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT MONEY. But I do need help!
NJT-Philly serves the Philadelphia and Wilmington-Newark areas.
I have some hospital connections, but am in need of folks who can introduce me to other area hospitals, nursing homes and home health agencies.
I’m also looking for LARGE suitcases with working wheels and intact handles.
