Happy to all the wonderful Nurse Practitioners out there!
Today and every day, we appreciate and celebrate our NP team members - they truly are healthcare heroes. Thank you for taking care of our patients and the communities we serve at FastMed!
This Veterans Day, we want to recognize and celebrate our veterans who serve our patients and community at FastMed. Today, we highlight Physician's Assistant, Peyton Potts (San Antonio, TX), who served 24 years in the United States Army before joining our team. The picture below is pretty incredible, it's the first day he arrived in Baghdad.
When asking Potts what he loves about FastMed, he said "I’m proud that FastMed is a company that supports both its veteran employees and the veteran community through the VA Urgent Care service, so that I can continue to support those who have served to defend our nation." Thank you Potts and all of the other brave men and women who serve us every day.
This week we celebrate National Radiologic Technology Week. It's our chance to reflect and commemorate the invention of the X-ray and all that it has brought to modern medicine. With a special thank you to our Rad Techs—we appreciate you this week and every day!

Healthy Holiday Tip #3: Stress Less
This is your reminder to take a deep breath and take some time for yourself! Racing out to the stores for gifts and supplies, arranging visits with friends and family, holiday travel, and the pandemic can cause lots of undue stress. Stress can cause headaches, digestive issues, insomnia, and more. Try your best to stay calm, take some deep breaths, and rest. Staying healthy and happy is the best gift of all!
Healthy Holiday Tip #3: Cook Safely
• Clean cooking areas prior and after use.
• Chop, slice and dice with care by keeping your fingers out of your cutting lines.
• Avoid burns by practicing caution when handling hot liquids and foods.
• Cook foods to their proper temperatures to reduce the risk of foodborne illness.
Healthy Holiday Tip #2: Shop Safely
If you are shopping in-store this year, here are a few tips to keep in mind:
😷 Wear your mask and avoid crowded areas.
🛒 Use sanitizing wipes to clean the handles of shopping carts and baskets.
🧴 Keep hand sanitizer with you and use it often, especially after touching items and door handles.

• Always use a sturdy step stool or ladder to reach high places. Never stand on tables, chairs, and other furniture.
• Prevent tripping accidents by placing cords and decorations out of high-traffic areas or off the ground.

According to the CDC, masks with higher safety standards such as medical-grade masks better protect against the delta variant of COVID-19.
