MEET OUR THERAPISTS:

Douglas Owen, MS, LPC-
As the owner of Bridge Builders Counseling Center and a native of Richmond, VA, Doug moved to Wilmington in December of 2004 to be closer to his grandchildren and great fishing. Licensed to practice as a therapist by the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, he is also a National Certified Counselor.

Doug holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Randolph Macon College, a Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary, and a Master of Science in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University.

Doug facilitates pastoral counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy, anger management groups and individual therapies, supervised visitation, general counseling daily and accepts most major insurances.

Dana R. Chambers MA, LPC-
Dana is a licensed professional counselor who received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Wheeling Jesuit University. She received her Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Marshall University. Upon graduation, Dana became a school counselor in Charlotte, NC at Holy Trinity Middle School for 10 years. After getting married she moved to Wilmington, NC and became a school counselor at St. Mark’s Catholic School for 2 years. She began working at Bridge Builders in February 2012. Her clientele consists of children, teenagers, adults, and couples.

Sarah Mooring, LPC, LCAS-
Sarah is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist who received her Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and Drug and Alcohol Studies from East Carolina University. She received her Master of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and Substance Abuse and Clinical Counseling from East Carolina University. Her professional experience ranges from inpatient hospital settings to outpatient psychotherapy, working with individuals across their lifespan. Her areas of therapeutic interest and expertise include substance use and other addictive behaviors, anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, adjustment issues, stress management, couples and family work, spiritual growth and eating disorders. Sarah believes that the idea that we all have purpose and can develop skills to cope with the challenges of life is powerful and possible.
