**WHAT IS LEUCOVORIN?**
Simply put, Leucovorin is the brand name for FOLINIC ACID, a form of folate. There are three major types of folate, and this is one type.
**IS LEUCOVORIN (Folinic acid) NEEDED FOR EVERY PERSON WITH AUTISM?**
No. Folinic acid treats Cerebral Folate Deficiency that occurs in somewhere between 21-71% of people with Autism.
**IS THERE A TEST TO KNOW IF A PERSON SHOULD TAKE LEUCOVORIN (Folinic acid)?**
Yes! There are actually several pieces of information we test to determine a) if high dose folate is needed and b) what form of folate would be best.
WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT TAKING LEUCOVORIN (folinic acid)?
People with severe MTHFR defects may do better on a different form of folate.
B12 should also be supplemented whenever a person takes any form of folate.
