I'm so excited to share my first ever double infused oil with you! This is yarrow infused into rice bran oil. Look at that gorgeous green color from all that plant goodness. This is my most potent and aromatic oil yet! Now what to create with it? I'm torn between making a facial serum, combining it with peppermint infused oil for those with oily/combo skin or acne, or I could whip up some gorgeous green lotion bars. What do you think?

Ingredient Spotlight
If the butters are the foundation, the flowers are the heart — the part I pour the most love and intention into. My flowers are started from organic seeds, with the exception of my new lavender plants. They are grown in organic soil in my raised bed garden. Everything is grown without the use of synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides. Sometimes this means I lose an entire patch of seedlings but it's worth it to ensure that I am making a safe, clean product.

🌼 Calendula — Soothing and calming, perfect for sensitive skin. The most gentle flower that I've found but don't let that fool you, she is powerful! Promotes tissue healing.

🌸 Self-Heal (Prunella vulgaris) — A humble wildflower that supports skin renewal and repair.

💜 Lavender — Calms both skin and spirit with its comforting scent and balancing touch. Can be helpful with inflammation and acne.

🌿 Yarrow — Strengthens and tones, bringing harmony to delicate skin. Can help with the appearance of a youthful complexion.

🌱Plantain - Soothes rashes and itchy skin. Also helpful with acne. The old saying about plantain reads, "The path to plantain is swifter than the journey to the doctor." While that might not hold true today it gives us an idea of how deeply this plant was revered.

When people ask what my unscented line smells like, I tell them it smells like my garden and after a try they agree 🌼

The Foundation of Every Bar

Solid, soothing, and deeply nourishing — these plant butters form the foundation of every Ote & Ani lotion bar and salve. They’re what give each one its rich texture, creamy glide, and lasting hydration.

💛 Shea Butter — Deeply moisturizing and full of vitamins A & E, it helps soothe dry, irritated skin.

🥭 Mango Butter — Light and velvety with a dry finish; perfect for soft, smooth skin without the heavy feel. With its high percentage of stable Vit C, it is able to moisturize, repair, and revitalize the skin layers.

🌿 Sal Butter — Known for its rich emollient texture that restores elasticity and smoothness. Contains squalene, which improves the skin's protective barrier.

💛Kokum Butter — A firm, non-greasy butter that melts beautifully into skin, helping to heal and protect. Suggested that it can help soothe red, irritated skin while using it.

🌿 Ingredient Spotlight: The Oils Behind Ote & Ani 🌿

Our lotion bars and salves are intentionally crafted with a blend of nutrient-rich oils that deeply nourish the skin while staying light and breathable. Here's a look at the powerhouse oils in our apothecary:

🌱Jojoba Oil — Closest in structure to our skin’s own natural oils, it helps balance and protect without feeling greasy.

🌱Apricot Oil — Silky and gentle, it softens dry or sensitive skin (even around the eyes).

🌱Almond Oil — Vitamin-rich and soothing, it helps calm irritation and very hydrating.

🌱 Meadowfoam Oil — Forms a natural barrier to lock in moisture and keep skin supple.

🌱 Argan Oil — A rich oil for repairing dry, damaged, or mature skin.

I have a few extra goodies left from the craft fair 2 weeks ago. Everything is fresh, homemade, and ready to be picked up. Once they’re gone, they’re gone!  I’ll be making new batches in November.
