Proud CFAD member! ❤️

As doulas, our goal is to provide non-biased, evidence-based support and education during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Through the CFAD Doula Support Scholarship, we provide birth doula or postpartum doula support services to local pregnant people in need. We sincerely believe that doula access is a reproductive justice issue and that all birthing bodies deserve to be well-supported and informed during their childbearing year.
We are now accepting rolling applications on a first-come basis. Any local pregnant or postpartum person who resides in New Hanover county or in one of the surrounding counties is invited to apply for this needs-based scholarship if they are seeking:

~ birth doula support
~ postpartum doula support
Preference for awards for professional doula support will be given to low-income families, single parents, and birthing or postpartum people facing hardships.

Meet the doulas! Here are 5 fun facts about Lauren. 😎
1. She was a competitive roller speed skater and was the 8th fastest girl in the nation when she was 12 years old. 🛼
2. She not only loves human babies but did sea turtle patrol and rescue to protect those little babies for 5 years at Carolina Beach. 🌊🐢
3. Lauren enjoys taking her Toyota 4Runner out on the beach at Fort Fisher and watching the bigger trucks get stuck....She does offer to help them though! 🛻🏖️
4. She loves flying and would fly to work and visits with clients if she could. ✈️
5. She enjoys traveling and exploring international destinations. She is always looking to add a new vacation spot to her list. 🧳🌎

There’s nothing quite like being on an overnight postpartum shift for one sweet family when you labor client calls and says she’s ready to go! Less than 12 hours later, a successful VBAC with 25 minutes of pushing!
I feel so blessed and honored to work with all of these families as be a part of their birth journeys.
