👀 It’s Friday the 13th… but we’re not superstitious. We’re not worried about black cats or walking under ladders.

But skipping your checkup? Now that’s a little scary. 😬

At ChristianaCare, we know the best way to avoid unexpected health surprises is to stay one step ahead:
✔️ Schedule your annual checkup

Congratulations to Yalanda Osborne, a patient care technician on the 4W unit at Wilmington Hospital, on receiving the ChristianaCare ROSE Award! 🌹 Osborne’s dedication to providing outstanding patient care through transformative ideas inspired her to approach the Technology Council with a proposed solution to document patients’ food intake during night shift.

“Yalanda’s innovative idea to improve our documentation system will provide a significant impact on patient outcomes,” said Crystal Hogate, Osborne’s nominator and manager. “This enhancement is crucial as it helps in monitoring patients’ nutritional status more accurately, preventing unnecessary feeding tubes, and may be shown to ultimately reduce the length of hospital stays.” Read more: https://ow.ly/rs6t50Ycsap

With the number of cases expected to rise in the coming years, now, more than ever, raising awareness is essential for building a stronger, healthier community.

During Heart Failure Awareness Week, we encourage our patients to learn about the common causes of heart failure, including diabetes, high blood pressure, and long-term heavy alcohol use.

🎶 “I don’t want to wait…” 🎶

When it comes to colorectal cancer, waiting isn’t the answer.

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States — yet it is one of the most preventable and treatable cancers when detected early.

✔️ Screening should begin at age 45 for most adults
✔️ Earlier screening may be needed with a family history or certain risk factors
✔️ Many cases develop with no symptoms at first

Screening can find precancerous polyps before they turn into cancer — and catch cancer at an earlier, more treatable stage.

Don’t wait for symptoms. Don’t wait until it feels urgent. Talk to your provider about colorectal cancer screening and the option that’s right for you.

🏥 Exciting News for Sussex County!

ChristianaCare has submitted plans to build a new health campus in Georgetown, DE — expanding access to high-quality, compassionate care right here in our growing community.

The proposed campus will bring together primary care, specialty services, behavioral health, emergency care, and inpatient services all in one convenient location. Designed to meet the needs of one of Delaware’s fastest-growing regions, this investment reflects ChristianaCare’s continued commitment to caring for our neighbors — close to home.

In partnership with Emerus Holdings, the national leader in the operation of neighborhood hospitals, the new Georgetown health campus is expected to open in late 2028.

This is more than a building — it’s a promise to strengthen access to health care in southern Delaware for years to come.

At a time when there is uncertainty about the future of heath care in the U.S., ChristianaCare is doubling down on its investments to expand access to care in Delaware. As part of $865 million in new investments in Delaware over three years that ChristianaCare announced last July, ChristianaCare tod...

On this chilly day, we warmed things up with hot chocolate, sweet pastries, and a heartfelt touch of appreciation — all served with love and excellence. ☕

It was so special to see our incredible caregivers pause, connect, and enjoy a cozy treat together. Every day, they bring dedication, compassion, and professionalism to the care they provide, and we are so grateful for the heart they put into their work.

This celebration was simply our way of saying thank you for all that they do. They make a difference for our patients and for each other — and we appreciate them more than words can say. ✨
