Being loved is NOT the same thing as feeling loved

Not everyone is meant to be in our lives to the end, so when someone brings pain, suffering, and disrespect to your life let them go, if you choose, you may wish them well from afar.

If it’s not possible to let them go completely, make sure you limit your energy and time spent in their presence.
Remember you are worthy of respect.
You matter. Your life matters. ❤️

(Don't beg anyone to be in your life. If you text, call, visit, and still get ignored, walk away. It's called self respect.-Steve Wentworth)

Our feelings shift constantly throughout the day. Sometimes minute by minute. You’ll notice you feel so strongly and about something and then an hour later you feel completely differently.

Or how you have many feelings (usually conflicting) at once.

Feelings come from deeper emotions (typically unconscious)— they’re our interpretation of emotions. That interpretation is based on our past experiences. Then, re-enforced by thought patterns that create more emotional responses.

Many of us (myself included) struggle with emotional regulation. When we haven’t leaned to regulate, feelings become overwhelming. We want to avoid, self medicate, or cope in ways that allow us to escape the sensations and the thoughts that come with intense feelings.

In reality, feelings are simply experiences of the mind and body. They come, shift, and change. They’re temporary. And when we become conscious, we can witness the feeling while understanding we are *not* the feeling. The feeling is not a concrete fact. It’s a message.

We can choose how we respond to that message, rather than letting that message drive our choices and behaviors
