Wilson Medical Center is committed to always providing excellent care to our community. Our 294-bed facility has provided services to residents of Wilson County and surrounding communities for more than 55 years. We offer an array of services, including orthopedics, cardiology, general surgery, women's care, emergency medicine, imaging and much more. We also have nine multi-specialty physician clinics, a wound center, radiation oncology center, outpatient imaging center, a rehabilitation and nursing care center and a 5-star day care. Our January Employee of the Month is Michael Rominski! Michael has been a dedicated member of the Wilson Medical Center family since June 2012, and his commitment to patient care, teamwork, and education truly shines. He is known for his positive attitude, strong work ethic, and genuine appreciation for those around him.

Michael is a registered nurse on our Medical/Surgical Inpatient Unit. He has been happily married to his wife for 32 years and is the proud father of six dogs. When asked about his hobbies, Michael humorously shared that he enjoys “picking up large clumps of dog hair and vacuuming” a full-time job with Huskies! He also enjoys giving blood at Joyner’s Funeral Home in Wilson, demonstrating his commitment to helping others both inside and outside the hospital.

When reflecting on his favorite memory at Wilson Medical Center, Michael shared: “The great teamwork. I have a great group of CNAs. Without the CNAs, a nurse is lost. My fellow teammates are the best Wilson Medical has. I am proud to work alongside these wonderful and often overlooked staff.”

Michael’s outlook on life is equally inspiring. His bucket list? “Every day I wake up is a bucket list for me. Each day is a blessing, and we should treat it as such.”

Co-Workers shared meaningful reflection: “Michael is always happy to take on the responsibility of providing education and meaningful rotations to students. He offers valuable clinical experiences with a smile on his face and a great attitude. He is kind, considerate, fair to all, and always willing to go the extra mile.”

🥇 First Place goes to... 🥁🥁🥁 Wilson Rehab and Nursing Care Team!! 👏👏👏 Congratulations on an amazing and creative gingerbread house!

We had 18 teams enter this year's competition and every entry showcased incredible creativity, teamwork, and festive holiday spirit. The competition brought so much fun and cheer to our workplace! Thank you to our incredible teammates for making this event such a success and for spreading holiday joy throughout our organization!
