To all of my local clients! Brandon Equine Medical Center is offering two specials during the month of June, gastroscope and dental.

Regular dental care is an essential part of maintaining a healthy and happy horse. Sharp points and uneven wear of the teeth can cause health and behavior problems and contribute to poor performance.

Gastric ulcers most frequently occur in performance horses due to transport stress, stall confinement, and higher exercise demands. Diet, feeding schedule, and chronic administration of non-steroidal anti-inflammatories are also common causes of gastric ulcers. The only definitive diagnostic available to determine if your horse is affected by gastric ulcers is gastroscopy.
