Today, I’m stepping out from behind the hats to reintroduce myself—the artisan and creative force behind Hello Haberdashery.
If we haven’t met yet, my days are a constant blend of creating and educating. By day, I’m in the classroom, introducing middle school art students to the vivid worlds of Kahlo, Klimt, and Basquiat. By night (and every spare moment in between!), my own artistic practice takes over as I sculpt Sinamay, weave horsehair braid, and integrate natural elements like quartz into custom millinery.
Hello Haberdashery is rooted in a deep love for "slow fashion." I believe in the power of artisanal craftsmanship and the unique energy of handmade design—things you just can't get from mass-produced goods.
Navigating the worlds of teaching, running a small business, and keeping up with my 12-year-old son is a balancing act. But every milestone makes it worthwhile—from celebrating over a decade in business and receiving multiple awards. such as Oglebayfest Best in Show, and the Annmarie Artsfest Spirit Award, to being voted "Best of WV Weddings" and recognized by the Tamarack Foundation (now WV Creative Network).
Whether I’m restocking a display at Bent River Trading Company, Witchy Wicks WV or Your Pure Store Wi******er VA, prepping for a workshop at South Side Studios WV, or setting up a student art show, my goal is always to bring a little more joy into the world through art.
