My Word for 2026

Last year, my intention was simple but deep.
To grow closer to God.

In many ways, I did.
And in many ways, that journey is still unfolding.

As I thought about 2026, I asked myself what would help me build on that foundation. And I realized something important. God had already given me what I needed during my time on the Camino.

Not one goal.
Not one resolution.
But six learnings that surfaced through walking, prayer, silence, and reflection.

They’re not finished.
They’re not mastered.
They’re still very much in progress.

But they’re real. And they’re worth carrying forward.

When I looked at them together, one word captured all of it.

Rhythm.

Forgiveness. Slowing down. Showing up for others. Balance. Avoiding self-destructive patterns. Solitude and community.

None of these are about perfection.
They’re about living in alignment with how God designed us.
Breath in and breath out.
Work and rest.
Effort and surrender.

So for 2026, my word is rhythm.
Not urgency.
Not pressure.
Just intentional, steady alignment.

What’s the word you’re carrying into the new year?

On my first day from Viana do Castelo to A Guarda, I stopped to take a photo of stacked stones by the ocean. I didn’t know then how much they would come to symbolize.

The ocean was moving.
The stones were steady.
Balanced through intention, not force.

Solitude on the Camino gave me space to hear God again.
To breathe.
To return to myself.
And I realized solitude doesn’t require travel.
It requires choosing space.
A friend just did a seven-day silent retreat at home.
No flights.
Just quiet. Prayer. Reflection.

But I also learned I am not meant to live life alone.
I missed sharing the beauty in real time with the people I love.
Joy is richer when it is shared.
And connection truly protects us.

Loneliness affects our health more than we realize.

So this final discovery is both:
Solitude and community.
Prayer and togetherness.
Rootedness and relationship.

Like those stones by the sea.
Steady.
Supported.
Held by something larger.
This is the way I am choosing next.

Camino Discovery 5: Breaking the Pattern of Self-Destruction

Sometimes the hardest person to protect myself from is me.

This journey has revealed more than scenery. It has revealed me.
I’ve seen the small, quiet ways I can be self-destructive, the habits that look harmless but steal peace over time.

When I’m stressed, I sometimes reach for food instead of God.
When life feels hard, I sometimes avoid what needs to be faced.
And when doubt creeps in, I sometimes listen to that imposter-syndrome voice that says I’m not enough, even when I know He has equipped me.

Those patterns aren’t random. They’re signals.
Signals that I’m trying to soothe what only God can heal.

On the Camino, I started to pause, breathe, pray, and ask:
What am I really feeling?
What truth am I avoiding?
What would honoring God and my health look like right now?

Healing doesn’t come through control. It begins through surrender. When I invite God into the moment, He replaces striving with peace and doubt with confidence.

Awareness is the start.
Grace is the strength.
God is the way forward.

Camino Discovery 4:
I’m wired to go all in and I’ve often lived like balance was optional.
But I’m learning it’s part of God’s design.

Life is built on rhythm
Inhale / exhale
Effort / restoration

When I overdo, with work, with exercise, even with helping, my body carries the cost. Stress, inflammation, depletion.

And others feel it too.

The space people need to grow, I sometimes fill.
The room they need to breathe, I sometimes occupy.

Balance isn’t 50/50.
It’s presence.
It’s knowing what’s needed in this moment and letting that be enough.

Not perfection.
Just rhythm.
Aligned with how God made me.

🌿 This is the third of six discoveries from my Camino journey. The first was forgiveness. The second, slowing down. And this one is about showing up for others in ways that truly matter.

During the long miles, I thought about my family, my friends, the people I work with, and the communities I serve. I reflected on how I relate to them, where I’ve fallen short, and how unique each person is in what they need.

In my corporate life, I learned to adapt to the people I worked with, to meet them where they were. But on the Camino, I realized I hadn’t always done that with the people I love most.

So I decided to be more intentional. To show up for each person in ways that matter to them, not just how I naturally give support.

That reflection tied directly to my sense of purpose. Helping and supporting others is what I’ve always been drawn to, through leadership, health coaching, and service. Purpose gives life meaning, and it even impacts health. People who live with purpose are happier, more resilient, and physically healthier.

When we show up with intention, we live our purpose, and that’s where healing begins.

➡️ My next discovery: finding balance in all things.

🌿 When I set out on the Camino, I wasn’t looking only for miles under my feet. I wanted space, to hear God, and to reflect. In the silence, I sensed His voice.

In my last reflection, I shared my first discovery: forgiveness. The second flowed from it, though it didn’t come quickly. It took until about day four to really understand. Slow down.

For years, I’ve had the same approach as my first three days on the trail. I’m obsessed with getting from here to there, moving fast, checking things off, and rarely noticing what happens in the middle. On the Camino, I finally slowed enough to meet five incredible women from Ireland. We laughed, shared stories, and reminded each other why the journey matters, not just the destination.

Slowing down helps us see more beauty, hear God more clearly, and connect deeply. It also activates our “rest and restore” mode, lowering stress and inflammation while boosting energy.
This photo is proof: the gifts are along the journey.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)

When I set out on the Camino, I wasn’t just walking for miles. I wanted space to reflect, to listen. In that solitude, I discovered God was near. He was speaking.

One of the six discoveries that rose up was this: forgiveness.

I carried more than a backpack on that trail—I carried old hurts, disappointments, and conversations I thought I’d left behind. And I felt the weight of them. God reminded me that just as He forgives me—fully and freely—I’m called to do the same. Not only for the big wounds, but also the small things that quietly trip up relationships.

Forgiveness doesn’t erase what happened. But it does lift the burden from your shoulders. It lightens the heart, steadies the spirit, and even improves your health. I felt it in my steps—freer, lighter, unbound.

If God has already lifted the weight, why keep strapping it back on?

➡️ My next discovery: the call to slow down.

So many of you have asked for updates along the way, so here’s a little check-in…

Halfway through my Camino! 🌿✝️ A couple of minor blisters and tired shoulders but overall feeling strong and grateful.

I’ve focused on caring for myself, healthy food, early nights, good sleep hygiene, and it’s paid off. Each town has given me the gift of time to pray in God’s house, and along the way I’ve had quiet moments of solitude to reflect and listen for His voice.

The weather has been beautiful, the locals so kind, and the camaraderie among fellow pilgrims makes spreading love easy. Of course, there have been challenges, like when my app failed me and I ended up off the path, but I’m reminded it’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey.

It's here. 130 miles. 8 days. On foot.

I'll be walking the Camino from Portugal to Spain, starting in Porto and ending in Santiago de Compostela, with a couple days on each end to explore these beautiful cities.

I’m doing this solo—no group, no family, no friends. Just me, my pack, and God. Leaving behind my family (and yes, even my sweet aging pup, Kuna) isn’t easy. But part of why I chose this pilgrimage is to step outside my comfort zone. To embrace the solitude and quiet, and use it as a space to reflect on my life, grow in my relationship with God, and reaffirm the purpose He created me for.

This is my small, brave move. It may not look huge from the outside—after all, I’m introverted by nature—but for me, it’s a chance to lean into discomfort, stretch into something new, and listen more deeply.

I’m grateful to the people who planted and watered this seed: my good friend Renee Eames, who first sparked the idea before I even knew the trip existed, and Nicole M Bianchi, who challenged me and others to take a small, brave move.

Adventure. Curiosity. Faith. Reflection. Purpose.
One step at a time.

This Independence Day, I’m grateful — not just for the freedom to speak, vote, and live how I choose — but for the freedom to protect my health and my family’s future.

As women, we have more access to choices than ever before. But too often, we’re handed outdated or industry-influenced guidance on food, health, and safety, and expected to just trust it.

We deserve better.

That’s why I support MAHA – Make America Healthy Again. It’s not political. It’s a bipartisan movement to bring integrity and truth back into our health systems.

Because being healthy shouldn’t be overwhelming. It should be empowering.

✨ Start with one small change.
✨ Ask better questions.
✨ Take control of what you can control.

💬 How will you use your freedom to make yourself and your family healthier?
Let me help you make it simple, sustainable, and smart.

When was the last time you laughed so hard you couldn’t breathe?

There was a time when I took life way too seriously. I’ve been told that if people didn’t know me, I could feel intimidating. But once they did? “You’re a lighthouse.”

Now, I try to lead with lightness.

This photo? Just me being ridiculous in a vintage store, stacking purple hats for no reason except it made me laugh—and made others laugh too.

Here’s what I know now:
✨ Laughter is healing.
✨ Joy is fuel.
✨ Silliness is powerful (and contagious).

Not forced positivity. Not pretending. Just real joy—the kind that makes you and others feel alive.

➡️ What’s something silly or joyful you’ve done lately? Drop it below—I’d love to smile with you.

In this episode of Small Brave Moves, I join Nicole Bianchi to talk about The Healthier Executive and the power of small, intentional steps toward better health. I truly admired Nicole’s bravery in stepping into a very intentional health decision with our shared three-day cleanse. Our experience reminded me how community, accountability, and intentionality can help all of us make small, sustainable changes that lead to lasting transformation.

I’d be honored to accompany more women executives on this kind of journey, because better health leads to better performance in both work and life.
