Ordering takeout isn’t going to automatically negatively impact your health… CONSISTENTLY undereating the nutritious foods your body needs daily along with overeating processed foods is what will overtime negatively impact your health. Here’s my simple tip for balancing your diet when ordering takeout for a simple meal 🍽️

What kind of content on my feed are you seeing that you like / don’t like? I’m trying so hard to navigate these crazy days as a mom of 2 and keep interesting content coming, but some days it feels discouraging to work so hard on social posts to get so little engagement. A delicious & healthy dinner SO easy we don’t even need a formal recipe or video. Here’s what you do:
1️⃣ wash, peel, & chop sweet potato and spread on baking sheet
2️⃣ pour bag of pre washed ready to cook broccoli onto baking sheet
3️⃣ slice precooked apple flavor chicken sausages and add to baking sheet
4️⃣ drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle on kosher salt, cinnamon, garlic powder, and chili powder (I know, I know - just trust me)
5️⃣ toss. Bake at 425 degrees F for 30 min, mixing halfway through. Serve over 90-second microwaveable brown rice or other whole grain

Idk what made me combine these flavors but you guys, it was SO GOOD!! It was savory but with a SLIGHT hint of sweet fall flavors too. This dish took literally 5 minutes to prep, and 30 to cook with minimal involvement. Also provides protein, carbs with fiber, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals.

I’ve had A LOT of processed takeout meals the last few days. This week has been a bit of survival-mode just simply trying to find time to actually eat meals. My body is not feeling it’s best, & rather than letting myself feel guilty & “giving up” on healthy habits, I knew that I’d be much better off prioritizing setting myself up for success this week. So I dedicated time to planning some creative yummy things to eat this week that would be easy to put together with limited time. Here’s a few things I’m planning…

Is a donut the most nutritious snack? No. Is it rich in sugar and fat? Yes. Does one random donut on a Friday at 10am completely ruin my health progress? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

What you do CONSISTENTLY is what determines your results. It doesn’t matter if the random donut is on a weekend or a weekday, morning or afternoon, on a vacation or during a typical work week. What matters is how that donut fits into your total daily diet and how your consistent habits look on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

If someone offers you a random apple cider donut (thanks mom!), highly recommend not turning it down because YUM. 😋

Last night’s one-pan dinner was the easiest thing possible to make and also happened to be super yummy AND filling. Did I mention packed with nutrient benefits too? ☺️
• mixed veg (squash, potato, broccoli, carrots, snow peas, etc)
• precooked spinach feta chicken sausage
• olive oil
• spices - garlic powder, crushed red pepper, salt, pepper
• all roasted together then tossed over some yummy rice

✅veggies
✅protein
✅grain/carb
Not to mention all the fiber, vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats mixed into these components as well!

Highly recommend for a super simple family dinner, or if it’s just for you, make a big batch and enjoy leftovers for lunches/more dinners!

My # 1️⃣ tip for prepping ahead for a healthy meal WITHOUT having to spend half of your day off meal prepping? Take advantage of anytime you’re already in the kitchen preparing a meal in the moment, and make 2 servings at once!

I’m a big fan of reducing how many times I have to wash a cutting board 😂 SO last night I was making myself a side salad to go with my dinner, and I thought while I already am using the cutting board and knife, might as well just make two salads at once and I’ll save one for lunch for tomorrow! I made it right in the to go container so this morning I had to put no effort into it, and honestly making two salads at once is just as easy as making one at a time!

When you’re putting together your dinner tonight, ask yourself if there’s one thing you can do at the SAME time to set yourself up for success tomorrow!
