Footprints Counseling is a new private counseling practice opened in January 2014 by Joseph B. Joseph B. Alexander is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (L-MFT). He comes from CareNet Counseling in Winston-Salem and Mount Airy (2009-2014) after serving as the Director of Pastoral Care Services at Northern Hospital (2003-2009). He has also served as chaplain in a nursing home setting (1995-19
99). Joseph has also been theologically trained and can explore spiritual issues and crises as a pastoral counselor. Joseph has particular interest in working with couples and working with grief issues with individuals and groups. Alexander holds the following degrees: Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Appalachian State University 2002; Master of Divinity (MDiv.) in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, 1993; and received Bachelor of Science (Psychology and Human Services) from Wingate University, 1990. Joseph was licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 2007.
