At TCC we are welcoming Kiante Kiante SongBird Wallace She is getting her LMFT internship done.
Her bio is below.
My name is Kiante’ Wallace, an intern at The Counseling Center of Winston Salem. I am currently completing my master’s at Liberty University in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). I completed my undergraduate degree at Winston Salem State University in Middle Grades Education. I taught 7th grade Language Arts and Social Studies for 8 years and reading intervention for 2 years. I have worked closely with students and families during my time as a teacher and noticed the dire need for more mental and emotional support. I believe in the holistic family dynamic starting with the strength of couples. It’s important for couples and families to know that each member plays a vital role.
I also have experience working with the youth at my local church and youth in the community through a ministry called Young Life. I also volunteer at WSSU as a YL leader, walking alongside college students as they matriculate through class and their social lives. My desire is to introduce them to Christ and be a resource to them and their families.
I am a Christian counselor in training. My Christian worldview will be appropriately incorporated and applied with biblical principles. The theoretical orientation that I have adopted while working with couples and families is Solution-Focused Theory, meaning once the presenting problem has been briefly discussed, we will focus on the present, goals, and the future. The timeframe for counseling will be 10-12 sessions before termination.
Sessions can be scheduled between the hours of 3pm-6pm Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday. The designated fee for my services is $30 per 60 minutes. Payments must be made at the time of the session
