Joy Prom Winston-Salem Joy Prom is an annual full-scale prom for the special needs individuals in our community. We will be needing many VOLUNTEERS to help serve our guests!

Joy Prom is a full-scale prom for the special needs individuals in our community. Formally attired guests arrive on the red carpet and are escorted by volunteers who help them with make-up, shoe shines and photo opportunities. A dessert buffet is served for all guests and is followed by an evening of dancing the night away with friends. This year we will provide an enchanting evening "Under the Stars" for 150 guests. It is our desire that every guest experiences the love of God at Joy Prom and that the joy they feel will last long after the event is over! Joy Prom is a free event for people ages 16 and above with developmental and/or physical 'different-abilities.'

Every guest will be provided with a Host or Hostess to guide them through the evening's activities. We will also be providing a Hospitality Suite for parents and caregivers who wish to stay during the event. Please note that if a guest has a special medical, communication or behavioral issue which necessitates one-on-one or 24-hour care, their caretaker must accompany them throughout the evening. Have you ever wondered what happens to all the leftover food and beverages from JOY PROM?

The leadership team has made it our mission to ensure that the food and drink left over from Joy Prom each year makes it to a mission that serves the needy in the Winston-Salem area.

This morning I had the joy of dropping off all of our leftover food off at The Dwelling to be served to those who are hungry.

When JOY is shared it multiplies!

As I finally lay down to go to sleep all I can say is that my cup runneth over.

To all of our guests, caregivers, and volunteers… Thank you for making our world more beautiful. I sincerely love each and every one of you and am beyond blessed to be able to spend this beautiful night with you!

You bring me and the world so much JOY!!!
