Good morning and welcome to Day 2 of NCABA! Our virtual preference assessment is live, and the preliminary results are…telling.

Right now, it looks like 38 of you would rather endure a week’s worth of session notes with Baby Shark on a loop than face the sheer agony of a dying gel pen. Apparently, BCBAs have a much higher tolerance for auditory sensory overload than we do for unreliable writing utensils! 🦈

The poll is still open! Stop by our booth to:
☑️ Cast your vote and help us see if "Baby Shark" holds its lead.
☑️ Grab some of our custom stickers (we have plenty to go around!).
☑️ Say hi and tell us which one you’d actually choose.

Let's keep the momentum going—see you at the booth!

Love doesn’t always look the same — and that’s a beautiful thing. ❤️

This Valentine’s Day, we’re sharing a reminder that connection isn’t one-size-fits-all. For many autistic individuals, love and care may be expressed in ways that don’t fit traditional “love language” boxes — but that doesn’t make them any less meaningful.

From shared interests to parallel play, from practical support to deeply thoughtful gestures, neurodivergent love languages deserve to be understood and celebrated.

If you’re a parent, caregiver, or someone who wants to better understand the autistic person in your life, this one’s for you.

Psychological safety: where clinicians can look up, speak up, and show up—together.

A meeting last week reminded us why we are so passionate about the culture we're intentionally creating at BrightBridge ABA.

Too many clinicians carry workplace trauma from environments where asking questions was seen as weakness. Where seeking help meant you weren't "good enough." Where collaboration was discouraged and mistakes were punished rather than used as learning opportunities.

That's not who we are.

At BrightBridge, psychological safety isn't just a buzzword—it's foundational to how we operate:
🔹Asking questions is encouraged, not judged
🔹"Can I sanity check this with you?" is a phrase we want to hear more often
🔹Seeking help early is valued as clinical wisdom
🔹Co-consultation isn't optional—it's how we deliver the best outcomes
🔹Mistakes are opportunities for growth, supported by leadership

We don't expect our clinicians to work in isolation. We expect them to work in partnership—with each other, with leadership, and with the families we serve.

Because that's how we deliver truly excellent ABA services.

If you're a BCBA or clinician who's been burned by toxic workplace cultures, I want you to know: it doesn't have to be that way. The right environment changes everything.

Understanding emotions isn’t always easy — especially for individuals with autism.

With the right emotional regulation strategies, children can learn to recognize their feelings, manage big emotions, and build confidence over time. When paired with behavioral techniques, these skills support lasting emotional well-being.
