Want to increase your motivation?
According to research in the Journal of Applied Psychology, we can increase our motivation by sharing our goals with someone. In fact, the results of several research studies show that we are more committed to our goals when we share them with people we perceive as having higher status then ourselves.
Several other studies confirmed this tendency. The researchers hypothesized that sharing a goal with someone whose opinion is valued makes it harder to abandon the goal.
Do you have a personal, career, and health goal that you have struggled to accomplish? Is there someone whose opinions you respect that you could share your goals with? Who knows? You might find that it boosts your motivation!
