The hardest part of recovery isn’t healing.

It’s convincing yourself to get out of bed when everything in you says,

“Don’t bother.”

Today was one of those days.

Last night I said I’d hit the gym.
I meant it.

But this morning?

I laid there.
Scrolled.
Checked emails.
Browsed Facebook.
Did everything except what I said I’d do.

Because here’s the truth:
Motivation doesn’t always show up when we want it.

And post-stroke? It’s even trickier.

My leg ached.
My shoulder felt like a concrete block.
My mind said, “Just rest a little longer…”

But I got up anyway.

Drove 10 miles to the gym.
Got on the elliptical.
Lifted a few weights.
Moved my body, slowly, but I moved.

And now?

The aches are gone.
My shoulder feels lighter.
My brain’s clearer.
And I’ve got a shot of momentum that didn’t exist an hour ago.

Not because I felt like it.
But because I did it anyway.

Motivation isn’t a mood, it’s a muscle.
And every time we show up when it’s hard, that muscle gets stronger.

What’s one thing that gets you moving when motivation is low?

Drop it below. Your answer might help someone else keep going.

Healing after a stroke isn’t just physical, it’s emotional, mental, spiritual.

Some days, just getting out of bed is the win.

What helps?

Routine. Rest. Reassurance.
Loving yourself through the slowness.
Finding one tiny thing to look forward to each day.

Letting people help.

You don’t have to feel “normal” to be making progress.

You just have to keep going.

They say healing takes time.

But no one tells you how to survive in the meantime.

The fog. The fatigue. The fear of not being who you were.

If you’ve been following my posts this week, thank you.

Thank you for your openness. Thank you for your comments, messages, and trust.

This week I shared pieces of my story, not because I have it all together, but because I know what it’s like to feel lost after a stroke.

To feel like no one really gets it. To wonder if your best days are behind you.

To question if clarity, energy, and joy will ever return.

Let me just say this:

You’re not broken.

You’re not falling behind.

And you’re not alone.

Recovery is rarely linear. It’s messy. Emotional. Frustrating.
But it’s also possible.

Whether you’re 8 months out, 8 years out, or still trying to make sense of what happened yesterday… you are doing better than you think.

Your pace is okay. Your story is valuable. And your presence here matters.

Keep showing up. Keep asking questions. Keep believing there is more ahead.

And if you ever need encouragement, a real conversation, or someone who’s walked this road too…I’m here.

Let’s keep going. Together.

💤 Can’t sleep no matter what you try?

You’ve cut caffeine, tried melatonin, even bought the fancy pillow… and you’re still tossing, turning, or waking up exhausted.

Here’s what no one tells you:
Your gut plays a huge role in how deeply, and how well, you sleep.

In Part 2 of my Signals & Solutions series, we’ll uncover:

✅ How gut bacteria control sleep hormones

✅ Why stress wrecks your rest

✅ Simple shifts to help you wake up restored

THE MINDSET SHIFT

There was a moment… where I stopped focusing on what I lost.

And started paying attention to what I could rebuild.

Not overnight. Not perfectly. But step by step.

I shifted from surviving to strategizing. From frustration to curiosity.

What if I could support my brain in a different way?

What if energy wasn’t just about sleep, but about something deeper?

What if gut issues after a stroke were more common than we realize, but rarely talked about?

I didn’t expect answers. I expected more of the same.

But what I found surprised me. Not just in how I felt, but how I started thinking again. Clearer. Brighter. More connected to who I was before the stroke.

It was like turning the lights back on in a room I forgot existed.

There were still challenges. Still off days. Still frustration. But now there was direction.

If you’re reading this and wondering if things could shift for you, too… I believe they can. I’ve lived it.

And if you’d like to talk more about the mindset that carried me through the fog, and how I started reconnecting the dots after my stroke.

Drop the word "reboot" in the comments.

I’ll reach out. No pressure. Just a conversation. One stroke survivor to another.

What they don’t tell you after a stroke… is that it messes with everything.

Your body.
Your brain.
Your confidence.
Your identity.

It’s not just about recovery, it’s about relearning how to live when nothing feels the same.

I had my stroke at 60.
I’m 68 now.
And the truth is, I’ve spent a lot of those years searching.

Trying to get my energy back.
Trying to think clearly again.
Trying to feel like me again.

I’ve tried more things than I can count, some helpful, some not.
But I never stopped looking.
Because I refuse to settle for “this is just how it is now.”

And if you’ve had a stroke, or you love someone who has,you know exactly what I mean.

This is me, showing up again.
Not because I’ve got all the answers… but because I’ve made progress.
Real, life-giving progress.
And I want to start sharing what’s helped, from one survivor to another.

You’re not crazy.
You’re not lazy.
And you’re definitely not alone.

I’m here.
And I’m going to start talking more about this.

Because someone needs to.

Afternoon cravings aren’t about willpower.

That 3 PM urge for sugar or caffeine? It’s your body waving a white flag.

The truth is, cravings are often signals, not weaknesses.
Signals your gut-brain connection is out of sync.

In Part 1 of my new Signals & Solutions blog series, we break down:

How dopamine drives your snack choices

Simple swaps that keep your energy steady

✨ What if you could grow a business without guessing?

No wondering what to post.
No chasing people who aren’t interested.
No “figure it out as you go” stress.

Just a step-by-step system that:
✅ Gets eyes on you
✅ Starts real conversations
✅ Converts interest into income

I thought success in this space was only for people with huge followings.
Turns out, it’s for anyone willing to plug into a plan that works.

The crazy part?
I’m watching people go from zero to leads, customers, and confidence… in days.

Change is coming.
I can barely sit still.
