Yogis! We’re entering the New Moon portal in the star cluster (Nakshatra) of Anuradha 🌑

I broke this down during this month’s live session inside The Yoga We Need… Anuradha invites devotion, trust, and connection.

We’re still carrying the full moon wisdom from Bharani Nakshatra earlier this month — how to center when life feels chaotic. This aurora shot was from the front deck of our lodge at that Full Moon night here in the Brooks Range 🥰

Now, Anuradha’s New Moon reminds us: we’re not meant to do life alone.

If you’re craving steady guidance in Himalayan Kriya, astrology rooted in the tradition of yoga, and a community to walk with you, I’d love to have you inside The Yoga We Need!

Taking yoga off the mat… and onto the runners!

No joke: I totally use breath of fire when I’m starting to get cold on a mush, or on the snowmachine. Forceful exhale, effortless inhale. They totally hear me — and the dogs look back at me like, “WTF, Mom?” They eventually ignore me and keep trotting along.

(And the pranayama actually works! 🙌 )

Jupiter is officially retrograde — and TBH, I love this energy. Jupiter is the planet of expansion and abundance, so this shift is a big one and lasts for the next few months.

When Jupiter appears to move backward in the sky, the invitation isn’t expansion out there… it’s expansion *in here.*

It’s the perfect time to slow down, reorganize your inner world, and create rituals that anchor you back into what matters. (Like snuggling with your pets!)

And rituals don’t have to be elaborate, perfect, or prescribed. It’s 2025, y’all… let’s be real. We’re Western yogis doing our best to show up and do our best every day. Rituals can simply be moments we choose to make sacred — moments that remind us of who we are becoming.

Today, I’m dropping a new class inside The Yoga We Share — a sacred extension of The Yoga We Need, created for yoga teachers who feel called to share the teachings of the Himalayan Kriya Yoga tradition with others.

This Himalayan Kriya class walks you through how to infuse intention into an object — because the things we use every day can become powerful anchors for our practice. They become physical reminders of what we’re working on.

Whether it’s a trinket, a mala, a candle, a stone from a hike… when we choose the things we surround ourselves with intentionally, they become more than objects — they become teachers.

Jupiter’s annual retrograde phase is the exact kind of cosmic support that makes this work potent. It’s a season for meaning-making, for reconnecting with your inner wisdom, and for creating practices that carry you through the winter.

Himalayan Kriya teachers: If you’re not yet enrolled in my mentorship portal, The Yoga We Share, consider this your reminder and invitation. For those on my mailing list, the details are in your inbox.

And if you haven’t trained in Himalayan Kriya with me but you’re curious about becoming part of this community, reach out. I’m the teacher who will actually respond personally and set up time to chat — and for teachers who join The Yoga We Share, I’ll be there to guide your journey every step of the way.

Sending love 💕

I’m teaching one of my signature mini-trainings live over Zoom this weekend, and one of my favorite parts of preparing for these weekends is crafting the lectures. I surround myself with books, the internet, and all my notes from years of study—piecing together something that’s part experience, part conversation, part debrief, and part wisdom.

As I’ve been preparing to speak about *why* breathwork actually works, it hit me that for so long I thought I hated science. I had a few science teachers who inspired me, but I never really understood why it mattered.

I had a similar feeling when I first started practicing yoga. My teachers would say things like “open your heart chakra” or “engage this part of your body,” but I didn’t know why it was important or what the Sanskrit words meant.

I always wished someone would really teach me.

Whether my teachers *were* teaching me and I just wasn’t ready to hear it, or whether I hadn’t yet found the bridge between the why and the how… all that matters is that I’m here now, completely in awe of the place where science and yoga meet.

Breathwork has become so popular in the wellness world, and for good reason. It’s where anatomy, physiology, psychology, and ancient philosophy weave together into something powerful — *almost* impossible to explain, but undeniable once you experience it.

I’m honored to guide a new cohort of students through the Himalayan Kriya Training this weekend—not just to learn how Kriya Yoga works on the mat, but how it transforms us in daily life… taking a seemingly magical phenomenon, and breaking it down into pieces that make sense.

Himalayan Kriya = Magic made simple, explainable, and repeatable.

If you’ve been curious about teaching Himalayan Kriya—or simply want to immerse yourself and understand more, you can find links to register for the training (RYT200 requires) or the immersion (no training required) on my website.

Of course, you can always DM me with questions! For those already enrolled, I can’t wait to meet you on your mats this weekend 🩷

Another incredible SHEJourney 300-hour course came to an end yesterday.

Sending my love and congratulations to this group of women — who hosted the most incredible 90-minute workshops as a culmination to our time together this weekend. I am honored to have guided this journey over the past five months.

These 📸s are from the very first yoga retreat I ever hosted in Montana, years ago 🫶🏻

This group of women and I explored all my favorite things from that season of my life — Whitefish, Polebridge, the views of Glacier National Park… and I taught yoga in our off-grid 30-foot yurt overlooking the valley.

I can still remember how nervous I was leading up to that retreat, planning the transport, food, activities, yoga, and lodging down to the tiniest detail. Those nerves stayed with me right up until I picked up our crew from the airport… and then P**F! 🪄 I was in my element.

That first retreat proved to me how much I love creating experiences for small groups. Even today at , our retreats are intentionally intimate (between 2 and 8 people) for that exact reason. I’m always in awe of how each group comes together and weaves its own magic.

In fact, I’m still on a few group text threads with guests from my early retreats here at Arctic Hive who randomly keep in touch 🤗

Looking back, I’m so glad I took the leap and hosted this first retreat. It set the course for where I am today. So grateful 🩷

🙋🏼‍♀️ Any fellow gold star ⭐️ meditators out there?

If you’re anything like me, you know that the spiritual path goes in waves… and it’s deeply personal, by design. My practice held up a mirror for me in this moment of indecision — a mirror I’ve seen before.

There are no gold stars or achievement certificates on the spiritual path. There isn’t even an end goal or destination. It’s a never-ending road of ups and downs and lessons, and we are the solo hiker, making our way as best we can.

I think this concept can get a little murky when we’re balancing learning yoga, living yoga, and offering yoga into the world. So how do we hold all three?

I’ll post the next part of the story soon!

Then and now 🥰

This photo was taken at a gathering for “Ladies Night” downtown Whitefish in my first back alleyway Yoga Hive studio — a decade ago.

I remember standing in that room, looking around at the faces of our community, and realizing that yoga is never really about the four walls or the poses. It’s about connection within.

Back then, connection meant hugs after class, candlelight savasanas, and laughter echoing through the studio. We showed up for each other (and as teachers, we hand-shoveled the driveway before class!) because the practice wasn’t just something we did alone. It was something we wanted to share with others.

Fast forward to today, and the space looks different… but the heart of it hasn’t changed. Now, through The Yoga We Need, yogis gather online, from living rooms and kitchens, mountain cabins and city apartments, sharing the same breath, the same teachings, the same reminder that we are not separate.

The Yoga Hive medium has changed, but my mission hasn’t. To create spaces where people feel seen, grounded, and supported in their body and in their life.

Whether you’ve been practicing with me since those early studio days, or you’re brand new to my corner of the internet… thank you for being part of this ever-evolving circle.

Here’s to connection — in every form it takes. 🫶🏻

Ever feel like life is spinning faster than you can catch your breath? 😮‍💨

This month’s Himalayan Kriya Sadhana for members of “The Yoga We Need” is a reminder that no matter what’s happening around us, we always have control over one thing: Our actions.

November 5th brings a Full Moon in Bharani Nakshatra — a star space of restraint, creativity, and sacred responsibility. We explored what it means to hold steady in the chaos. To pause. To choose. We built heat and focus… and then let it all dissolve into a full-body Shakti Shake — releasing what’s not ours to carry.

This is the yoga we need right now: Not to escape what’s going on around us, but to meet it with presence and power.

Join “The Yoga We Need” anytime to watch all November’s recordings (including this practice, recorded live this morning!), November’s Cosmic Timing, a deep dive into the moods of our Full and New Moons this month, and over 108 on-demand classes to watch anytime! 🌕✨

Your mat, your pace, your inner world — always welcome here.
