Sierra Leone Allied Health Association (SLAHA) is a registered Non-government Healthcare Organization in the United States of America, which was registered on December of 2010. Vision:
Promoting a better understanding of health for every life we touch
Goal:
Educating communities all over Africa and to teach them the importance of disease prevention and wellness promotion starting with one person, and eventually a community in Sierra Leone, and beyond. Peter’s Healing Church Calaba Town in 2004, and extended it's work to community leaders in the Calaba Town community in 2006. By 2009, the need for health care services became evident, when chronic conditions like Diabetes/Hypertension were identified on individuals by the team, and the participants in turn have no resources to seek Health Care Services with their community providers/services. This unfortunate circumstances led to the registration of SLAHA in the USA in 2010, to aid in being able to purchase affordable medication through services that provide medication for medical missions at a cheaper cost. Sierra Leone Allied Health Association(SLAHA) has provided services to communities all over Sierra Leone from Lumley, to Kamakwie, and have served over 100,000 people all over Freetown. We intend to continue to expand our services in Sierra Leone to educate as many people as possible about disease prevention, and wellness promotion. Sierra Leone Allied Health Association through the years has also provided services to communities in Trinidad and Tobago. To expand in our work in Sierra Leone, we have partnered with Livelihood Development to help SLAHA expand its services outside of Freetown where the need for healthcare services, and education is severely, and desperately needed.
