Did you know digestion starts before you even take a bite? 🍽️👀👃

The moment you see, smell, or even think about food, your body kicks into gear. This early stage—called the cephalic phase of digestion—primes your system by stimulating 💦 saliva, 🔥 stomach acid, and 🧪 digestive enzymes.

Basically, your body’s getting a head start so it can break down and absorb all those nutrients more efficiently.

This is why slowing down, being present, and really savoring your meals matters. Your brain and gut? Dream team.

Circadian rhythms affect your energy level throughout the day, when certain hormones are secreted, hunger levels, and even your body temperature!

So if you feel a bit 'off' this week, don't stress. Instead, do your best to help your body adjust to your new schedule.

*Get as much time outdoors as possible.
*Unfiltered morning light is especially helpful.
*Keep your home lighting dim in the evening.
*Wear blue light blocking glasses after sunset.
*Stop screen time an hour before sleep time.
*Create a consistent bedtime routine that promotes relaxation and set 'lights out' to the same time each night.
*Wear a sleep mask to block out lights during sleep. Even a tiny amount of light can disrupt sleep for some.

You can rebalance your circadian rhythm in as little as a few days, but for some it can take much longer. If you have continued sleep challenges, nutrient deficiencies, blood sugar imbalance, or food sensitivities may be at the root of your difficulties. Nutrition counseling can help.
