The coronavirus is really what's on everyone's mind. We are doing our part in maintaining a sterilized work environment by isolating teeth when working on patients, using rubber dams, pre-treatment antibacterial mouth rinses, & utilizing our state-of-the-art sterilization techniques. Remember, if you're not feeling well, please reschedule your dental appointment. If you're not yet a patient of ours, we hope you're working with specialists who follow the same rigors as we do. Dear CFAD Family,

Over the past 20 years, I have been mentoring several up and coming students, who have shown great interest in making private practice dentistry their future career. For the past 7 years, I have had the pleasure of following the development and career path of one individual in particular, Dr. Shawn Schlessel.

It is with great joy, and my honor to announce that Dr. Schlessel will be joining our team in an effort to expand and grow our practice at The Center for Advanced Dentistry.

Dr. Schlessel, a Cleveland native, attended The Ohio State University for his undergraduate studies. After graduating from the University of Tennessee Dental School, he joined one of Nashville's most recognized cosmetic and general dental practices. There, he learned to perfect his craft, as well as continue his education with the latest dental technology and courses.

After he and his wife, Alexis, welcomed their daughter, Sylvia, they knew it was time to leave Nashville and head back to Cleveland to be closer to their families. They are currently getting settled, and Sylvia, now one, is happily spending lots of time with grandparents!

While the world has been in a crazy place lately, I and the rest of the team at The Center for Advanced Dentistry, want to assure you that we have been anything but idle!! As you know, we have re-fitted our dental rooms, and have adapted safer, more efficient ways of providing care to meet all of our patient needs. As a report card update, I would like to say, our office is thriving and has been up and running as smoothly as before, and we are full steam ahead toward a bright future!

We are excited to introduce you to Dr. Schlessel on your next visit! Come for the dentistry, stay for a coffee and a laugh to go with your smile!

A letter from Dr. Hornstein:
Hello to our Center for Advanced Dentistry family!

I hope you are all well and taking advantage of your free time during this quarantine period. I miss seeing all of you. Being away for so long makes me appreciate what a great team we have and what great people we help every day in our office.

I want to update everyone on the changes that we are
implementing in our dental office moving forward. I want to emphasize that your safety, as well as ours, is of the
upmost importance. Therefore, I have personally invested thousands of dollars in procuring state of the art infection control measures. This includes new filtration systems that mitigate aerosols and kill bacteria and viruses. We are implementing the use of ozone machines to sterilize the office in the evening. Additionally, we are working hard to procure PPE’s to keep everyone safe.

Here is the protocol we are implementing when our of re-open:
1. We are reserving some of our early appointments for our patients who are over 60 years old and patients who are at high risk because of health factors causing decreased
immunity.
2. All patients will go through forehead temperature scan screening and a thorough history of questions pertaining to your health status and social distancing.
3. We are staggering our patient visits to maintain social distancing practices. Therefore, when you have a scheduled appointment, please call us when you arrive in the parking lot, and we will welcome you and bring you directly into our treatment rooms.
4. We are setting up a barrier in our treatment room for our patients that need dental “filling” work. We are also purchasing high speed suction units for all procedures. Both of these systems, along with your health screening, will ensure all treatments are safe.
5. Please consider wearing a mask into our office for your safety and the safety of our team and other patients.
6. Our team will be wearing masks, face shields, and disposable gowns, which we will dispose of when done.
7. Unfortunately we will not be able to offer hugs and high fives! Maybe a to go cup of coffee if time allows. We want to make your appointment as safe and time efficient as possible.
8. We are working to accommodate everyone who needs to schedule an appointment. Please be patient, as we will not be fully operational when we first open.
