Please note: Due to weather, all Thundermist facilities will be closed Monday, January 26, 2026. We have done this out of an abundance of caution for our patients and staff.

Our Call Center will be open (401-767-4100) and telehealth visits that were already scheduled will be happening.

If you have an appointment on site that was originally scheduled for Monday, our team will be in touch about rescheduling it. We plan to be open normal hours on Tuesday, January 27. Please stay safe during the storm!

All three of our Convenient Care locations (Woonsocket, West Warwick, Wakefield) will be closing at 12 p.m. today, January 25.

The snowstorm is expected to make travel treacherous this afternoon and we want to make sure everyone stays safe.

We are still evaluating conditions for tomorrow and will announce any delayed opening or closure later today. Be careful out there (or stay inside)! 💙❄

With frigid temperatures settling in starting tonight and a big snowstorm on the horizon, no one should be sleeping outdoors! If you or someone you know is trying to find a warm place to stay during this time, a reminder that the state's list of warming centers is here: https://riema.ri.gov/warming-centers.

More spaces will be open than may be listed on this site. For example, in Woonsocket, folks who are unhoused can check with Open Doors about their shelter at 181 Cumberland Street, and the shelter at 356 Clinton Street is also open. Checking with local city/town officials is another option, or call 2-1-1. Help our neighbors stay safe and out of the weather these next several days!

What usually happens after holiday travel and gathering with lots of folks indoors during an already bad flu season? Yep, you know already: Cases of flu and other respiratory illnesses go waaaaay up. The latest flu map from the CDC isn't even from January and there is very high flu activity nationwide, especially in New England. Things to remember as we head into the height of respiratory virus season:

💉: It is not too late to get a flu shot, or COVID booster, or RSV vaccine if you need it! Most providers' offices and pharmacies offer them, or look at vaccinefinder.org.

😷: If you have symptoms and need to be out and about, wear a mask. If you don't need to be out, stay home.

🙌: Wash those hands! Good old fashioned soap and 30 seconds of scrubbing 'em will help stop the spread of viruses and bacteria.

🦠: Cover that cough and sneeze. Coughing or sneezing into your elbow helps prevent further spread of droplets.

While vaccines may not prevent illness entirely, they certainly help reduce the severity of an illness and its duration. Remember: If you do get sick, be sure to rest and hydrate and take pain medications or fever reducers as needed.
