Moonlight at the Garden, our annual fundraising gala, was held at the Roger Williams Park Botanical Center in Providence last Wednesday, October 22. The funds raised at Moonlight go directly to benefit the patients and programs at Thundermist.

Moonlight raises funds through sponsorships and a live Fund-a-Need giving opportunity. During the event, one of our patients spoke about the amazing impact Thundermist services and staff have had on his life. The money raised during Moonlight at the Garden ensures patients have access to the care they need, when they need it, no matter what.

Thank you to all of our sponsors, attendees (including our board members who came, pictured here as a group), staff volunteers, and our auctioneer Cathy MacPherson (pictured as well), who made the evening a success!

It's Medical Assistants Recognition Week! We wanted to take a moment and say thank you to all of our MAs who provide such great care to our patients every day. Our teams literally couldn't do it without you. These are just a couple of snapshots from fun lunches and break events at our Woonsocket and West Warwick locations to help celebrate them.

But that's not all! It's also National Pharmacy Week--and Tuesday was National Pharmacy Technician Day. These teams are also part of the backbone of patient care and their work is essential. Thank you for all you do!

This morning at the Rhode Island Health Center Association annual meeting, our chief medical officer, Dr. David Bourassa, was honored with the Clinical Leadership Award. The award recognizes a community health center provider who exemplifies continued clinical excellence and professional development, is innovative in practice or policies, and demonstrates leadership in areas that benefit their organization and/or system of care.

For those of us who get to work with Dr. B (as he widely known), we know he exemplifies all of this and more. A pediatrician who has now worked at Thundermist for 28 years, we're proud to have him as a leader of the organization. Watching his clinical colleagues from other community health centers give him this honor was a special treat. Congrats, Dr. B!

This week we're hosting two flu clinics in Woonsocket for Thundermist patients interested in getting their flu shot. They will be held Tuesday, October 14, and Thursday, October 16, 5-8 p.m. at our health center at 450 Clinton Street.

We ask that you please schedule in advance by calling 401-767-4100. When you arrive at the health center for your appointment, you can go to the Convenient Care welcome desk to check in. Please note: these clinics are only for the flu vaccine.
