🌞 Just me, enjoying the gift of sunshine after a blizzard.

✨ Offering you a gift of one hour to pick my doula brain.

If you are pregnant and feeling overwhelmed by information, hospital “standard practices,” or all the decisions ahead… come join me.

On Thursday, March 12 at 6 pm, I’m hosting a free live virtual doula Q&A on Zoom.

Bring your real questions about induction, epidurals, C-sections, VBAC, postpartum, or anything else on your mind.

And if you don’t have questions yet, that’s okay. You can simply listen and learn from others.

No slides.
No pressure.
Just steady, evidence-based support.

If you’re craving clarity and confidence in your birth journey, I would love to see you there.

A big, heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who came to the networking gathering on a cold January Thursday! It warmed my heart to see all the beautiful souls supporting each other and our local families in Central Mass. You all rock! I can't wait to do this again. (Hopefully, next time I won't get called to a birth at the start of the meeting)

Feel free to tag yourselves. I will start with the few whose socials I know:

I believe life is sacred, from the womb to the street corner.

When you witness the miracle and fragility of life in the birth room, you cannot ignore the injustice of public servants taking human life in the streets.

I stand with communities calling for accountability and peace.

Don't listen to me, listen to Traci Doula, who has been teaching advocacy skills to parents and birth workers for many years.

If you want a certain type of birth, choose a provider who attends that type of birth on a regular basis. Just like if you wanted really great sushi, you wouldn't go to an Italian restaurant. Don't make a choice that would set you up for a disappointment. Are there exceptions? Absolutely. But make sure you stack the cards in your favor as much as is within your control.

Doctors are skilled. And they are not always right.

A recent client was told she needed an induction because her baby measured in the 4th to 10th percentile.

That baby was born at deliciously healthy 6 lb 14 oz. Just below average, around the 30th percentile.

Ultrasounds estimate. They do not predict the future.

You are allowed to ask questions. You are allowed to wait. You are allowed to trust your intuition.

👉 If you want support having these conversations and making confident, informed choices, join me for ✨Doula Chats.✨ Quiet, supportive space. Real education. No pressure.

10 years ago feels just like yesterday and a lifetime ago all at once.

đź’ś I was deep in my mothering years. Homeschooling. Helping little kids deal with their big feelings. Making homemade meals from scratch. Consumed by the needs right in front of me. Knitting to relax. My world was small, sacred, exhausting, and rewarding.

đź’ś 2016 was also the year of soul searching and praying. It was the year I heard the Lord's gentle call to step into birth work. That fall, I took a leap and completed my doula training. It was hard to be away from my small children (my youngest was still breastfeeding), but also so fulfilling to pursue my calling.

When I look back, I see so much tenderness there.

✨I see you if you are in the thick of parenting, sleep-deprived and overwhelmed by your children's needs. What you are sowing into them will bear beautiful fruit.

✨I see you if you feel lost in motherhood and unsure of who you are becoming. You haven't lost yourself, you are just being transformed into the fullness of the woman you were created to be.

When someone says, “It’s hospital policy,” take a breath.

Hospital policies guide staff.
They don’t automatically remove your right to choose.

✔️ Sometimes policies are based on evidence.
✔️Sometimes they’re about efficiency.
✔️Sometimes they’re about protecting the hospital.

If you know me, you know that I don't believe in one-size-fits-all care.

So it’s okay to ask:
“Is this being recommended because of my medical situation, or because of policy?”
“What are your concerns if we don’t do this right now?”

And if you decide to say no, you don’t need to argue or explain yourself over and over.

You can simply say:
“Thank you. We understand the risks, and we are still choosing to decline. Please document that in the chart.”

That sentence is calm.
It’s clear.
And it usually allows everyone to move forward with less tension.

You are allowed to protect your peace in labor.

👉 If this feels helpful, save it now. Labor is not the time to search for words.

If you are preparing for birth and want a doula who will stay grounded no matter how your journey unfolds, I would love to connect đź’ś
