🫀Favorite part of PA school: The people I have met along the way. Our cohort and program has introduced me to some of my favorite people and I couldn’t get through didactic year without them!
🌟Fun Fact: I officiated my mom’s wedding!

Wrapping up Term 2 with some hands-on lab days in Ophthalmology and ENT👁️👂🏼👃🏼 Students practiced skills with funduscopic exams, slit lamp assessments, otoscopy, fiber-optic nasal laryngoscopy, and A LOT of cerumen removals. Looking forward to what Term 3 brings! 🩺🥼

Today at Assumption, we honored Juneteenth, a powerful day of reflection, resilience and freedom. Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas were finally informed of their freedom, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. It’s a reminder of both delayed justice and hope.

We gathered together as a community to learn, reflect and educate ourselves on the historical and present day significance of this holiday.  Our class watched “Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom,” a documentary that beautifully explores the significance of this day and the fight for freedom and equality. Today’s event was more than just a commemoration; it was a step toward honoring the past while continuing to build a more inclusive and equitable future together.

🩺What I am looking forward to the most in PA school: To experience clinical year and find my “niche”. I look forward to watching everyone else find theirs too.
🫀Favorite part of PA school: You are forced to grow in such a tangible way. It’s exciting to think of how a program like this changes you for the better, and you get to see yourself become a clinician in real time.
🌟Fun Fact: It took me 6 grueling & hardworking years to get into PA school. Never give up on your dreams!

🌍🍽️ The first Assumption PA Cultural Food Showcase Potluck was a huge success! Students shared dishes that represented their cultural heritage, family traditions, or simply reminded them of home. The spread featured everything from fresh ceviche, spring rolls, and samosas to pasta, Mediterranean salads, Italian wine cookies, and mango lassi. 🍝🥟🍛🥭🍪

A big thank you to our amazing DEI Chair, Gabby, for bringing this event to life and helping us celebrate the diversity within our program! 💛
