May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

At Camp Get-A-Way, our mission is to shine a light on mental health and create a space where you feel seen, supported, and never alone.

Mental health isn’t linear — it’s a deeply personal journey, full of ups, downs, pauses, and progress that looks different for everyone. Every step forward, no matter how small, deserves to be celebrated.

Let’s talk about art. 🎨

Oftentimes, we move through life smiling on the outside while carrying something very different
within. We wear the “I’m fine” mask. The “I’ve got it all together” mask. The “be strong for
everyone else” mask.

At Camp Get-A-Way, we create space to gently set those masks down.

Through color, movement, texture, and creativity, art becomes more than just a project — it becomes a release. A safe way to say what’s hard to put into words. A way to express what’s really happening behind the scenes.

And the beautiful part? This is something you can carry home with you. You can create this same safe space within your own family.

Because when we allow ourselves to create freely, we also allow ourselves to feel freely. And
that’s where healing begins. 💚

In celebration of World Art Day, we’re shining a light on the creativity that fills Camp Get-A-Way
with color, joy, and connection. From painting rocks and tie-dyeing shirts to designing beautiful
handmade bracelets, our campers get creative turning simple materials into meaningful
masterpieces.

At Camp Get-A-Way, arts & crafts are more than just fun activities — they’re moments of self-expression, confidence-building, and family bonding. We love watching our campers explore their creativity, support one another, and proudly share what they’ve made.

we serve. 💚

We’d like to give a special thank you to The Children’s Guild Foundation for their incredible support. Their generosity has helped fund scholarships for families in the Western Region and has partially supported our Wyoming County Skill Development Group.

Because of partners like them, more families have the opportunity to participate, learn, and grow
within our programs.
