What if you couldn’t?
What if you couldn’t go on that hike with your friends because your body couldn’t handle it anymore?
What if gardening became too painful or too unstable to do safely?
What if playing with your children or grandchildren meant worrying about falling or not being able to get back up?
What if you had to say no to simple outings because there were stairs and no ramp or elevator?
What if you were afraid to lift a simple package at your front door?
What if a normal day started to feel like something you had to plan around your limitations instead of your life?
We lose strength, muscle, bone density, balance, stability, and coordination as we age… and the hardest part is that most people don’t do anything about it while they still can.
We tend to live in the present without thinking about the version of us that will exist 20–30 years from now.
This is why I train. This is why I coach. This is why I will always preach strength training and building habits that support your body for life.
Because the person you are today is the same person you want to still be in your 60s, 70s, and 80s… active, independent, and capable.
If you keep saying “I’ll start tomorrow” or “one day,” that day eventually becomes the day you wish you had started sooner.
So if I can encourage you in anything, it’s this: start now. Let it be messy. Let it be awkward. Let it feel like learning something new, because it is.
Everyone starts somewhere. Every strong person you see once felt nervous, unsure, and a little intimidated too.
