I LOVE nacho cheese. I also know it’s highly processed with minimal nutrient value. 🫤

That’s why I am so happy this plant based nacho cheese tastes and feels like actual nacho cheese! We used it on our baked potatoes and veggie burgers this week. ‼️

It’s a fun and yummy addition to your no-meat days or plant based eating. 😊

Diets often fail because they are not sustainable. Who can drink cabbage soup indefinitely? Our body and brain have complex mechanisms in place to regulate our body weight. Once a person stops that cabbage diet, and returns to their usual lifestyle, the weight will return.

To lose weight and keep it off, it is vital to incorporate lifestyle changes that are manageable and something you can do for the long haul. Start small, be consistent, and build your confidence. For instance, many of us don’t drink enough 💧

Proper hydration is imperative for normal bodily processes. Also, Your body can misinterpret thirst as hunger! 🤯 If you find it difficult to drink enough water, you can also help meet your hydration needs by adding lemon, cucumbers, caffeine-free teas like hibiscus, drinking soups and eating more fruits and veggies. 🍎

You can do it! 👏

🧠 Your body and mind are amazing! There are complex mechanisms in place to regulate hunger, satiety, and weight. But our environments are hijacking these amazing processes.

🚗 🪧 Many of us live in “obesogenic” environments. For instance, many jobs are sedentary. It wasn’t too long ago that our ancestors were hunting and farming, requiring walking, running, squatting, climbing, etc. Our communities usually don’t promote walking and might even be unsafe to walk in. We are bombarded by ads and pretty pictures and colors for energy dense, inflammatory foods that don’t have vital fiber micronutrients. Our foods are grown or raised in nutrient depleted soils. Our phones, stress, and busy life/work schedules make it hard for us to get adequate, restorative, healing sleep.

🥊We have to fight against our environments or move to a farm or mountain (not an option for the majority of us). The fact is that more and more people are developing excess weight in relation to what their bodies can handle. You can do this by taking small steps consistently. Don’t fall for the “lose it quick” approaches because they usually don’t last. Find the approaches that will stick for you!

Have you fasted before? You probably have, either unintentionally, because of a crazy BUSY day or intentionally, for a spiritual/religious reason.
🍽️Intermittent fasting, alternate day fasting, and time restricted feeding are the most studied approaches to fasting for health.
⛽️When you are in your “feeding window”, your body is mainly utilizing glucose as fuel. When you’re in your fasting window, you body is using mainly ketones, or broken down stored fat.
⏰Studies show that ketone levels usually start rising about 8-12 hours after starting a fast (fast: no consumption of food items; non caloric liquid like water💧is ok.
🌲With consistent intermittent fasting, you may experience improvement in waist circumference, stress resistance, brain functioning and chronic diseases like pre-diabetes, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, metabolic syndrome, and inflammation
✅intermittent fasting is consistently and consciously alternating between periods of eating and not eating.
⛔️ this is informational and not medical advice. It is always recommended to consult your physician before starting your intermittent fasting journey.

Good morning! Juiced up my celery, bok choy, cilantro, and apples last night so I could grab and go this am. I also added chia seeds to my drink so that I had some omegas to help me absorb the fat soluble nutrients in my green drink 🍏.

Have you tried these beauties? Romanesco has a nuttier, sweeter taste than cauliflower .

🌿
It is a Brassica vegetable, like cauliflower, broccoli, kale and brussels sprouts, cabbage, etc .

🌿Here are some reasons why you should try incorporating these veggies into your daily diets:
-their high fiber content helps with gut health and weight loss/maintenance.
-they are good for your eye health and skin, as they are high in carotenoids.
-They are also full of anticancer and anti-inflammatory phytochemicals, like phenols and vitamin C .

🌿I’m looking forward to going to the farmers market this week. Hopefully, I find some romanesco!

I needed this today. Hopefully, it moves and uplifts you as well. 🌞.
I’d like to thank the sung and unsung women heroes of the past and present who have contributed to the societies’ movement forward. Thank you to all those women that knocked and kicked down doors so that the rest of us could enter. Because of you, I, we, can chase our dreams.

🔊☝️! Tea time for me, bath time for kitty. Isn’t the sound of pouring tea relaxing? Drinking white tea today, as I had a big cup of coffee this AM and am looking for less caffeine.
