Today I found decay on a senior that is unable to travel.
As RDHAPs we can place Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) a, non-invasive liquid applied to teeth to halt cavities, reduce sensitivity, and prevent further decay without drilling or needles. It is highly effective, with studies showing up to 80-90% success in stopping decay. Costs range from $20–$75 per application. Key side effects include permanent black staining of the decayed area.
This will buy time until the family arranges a Mobile Dentist to come to see her.

In honor of Children’s Dental Health Month, I had the joy of visiting two classrooms today with toothbrushes, gifts, dental puppets, and Smile California resources for families.

Teaching children how to care for their teeth in a fun, hands-on way helps build habits that last a lifetime.
Prevention isn’t just what I do — it’s my passion.

I am grateful for my friends, who invite me in and for little learners who remind me why prevention matters so much!

I am happy to say I passed my CADP_Office
Audit and infection control.
Woohoo!!!
They wanted to see my Sterilization process, Spore test results and log, sealed and dated instruments.

Infection control is the foundation of safe dental care especially for the medically fragile.
• Clean, sealed, dated instruments = safe patients.
• Spore testing and sterilization logs ensure every instrument is truly sterile, every time.
• Mobile care requires extra diligence , safety is always my top priority.
• Proper infection control protects my patients, caregivers, and myself.

Yesterday I was a special guest speaker at the
UCLA SCHOOL OF DENTISTRY

"Special Patient Care Club" invited me to share my experience, knowledge and stories about being an RDHAP with the dental students.

It was a cool and exciting experience putting together the slides and pictures of patients I was able to help through these years as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice helping the underserved- elderly, disabled and special needs community.

I was shocked when I did the Math! This December - 20 years ago I started Special Access Dental ! WOW!

I am hoping this year to continue to educate the public and the dental community about bringing preventive dental services to these special people that need it most!!!

My friends and followers ---Let me know if you hear or know about any speaking or presenting opportunities in the area. I am happy to help!
