I’ve loved art for as long as I can remember, and I knew I wanted a career where I could help others. Fortunately, I have the opportunity to combine my love for art with helping others. How do I do this? I am always brainstorming meaningful ways to incorporate art into sessions with clients, when appropriate and engaging, of course! But even without art supplies in hand, I get to be creative every day. Each day, I get to focus on creatively blending goals and objectives into functional activities that may seem merely fun, or I adapt to align goals with client-led activities. Out-of-the-box thinking? Count me in! This allows me to build a genuine connection with clients and support skill development through meaningful experiences that last long after the session has ended. Additionally, it helps create a safe space and nurturing relationship where clients feel comfortable stepping outside their comfort zones, ultimately enhancing their skills and boosting their self-confidence.
